Our hosts Nanna and Fridrick were superb. Met us at the property - after our delayed flight and explained everything. They were available if we needed them but let us get on with enjoying ourselves.The property is amazing. The setting is unparalleled. The hosts were fantastic. We never go back to the same place twice - the world is too big. But we will definitely return here.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! The location was perfect, peaceful, scenic, and close to many sights along the Golden Circle. The house was very comfortable, and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights twice during our visit, right from the property! The hosts were wonderful and very responsive. Overall, an excellent experience, we highly recommend staying here.

This home was in one of the most incredible settings we’ve ever experienced. It had everything we needed to keep us comfortable, plus the most gracious hosts. It is in a very peaceful setting with 360 views of Iceland’s beautiful scenery. It’s a bit of a drive from the airport, but once you’re there the home has great proximity to everything in the golden circle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book again in the future. Thank you, Nanna, for sharing your beautiful home with our family.
Very nice covered patio with space heaters that made it very comfortable while enjoying the views.
This is the main part of the house. There is a separate master bedroom with shower and kitchenette.
We had a beautiful sunset the last night and it was just an incredible experience.

Better than the pics!

The house and property are stunning. The house sits at the bend of a river and the view is incredible. It’s peaceful, colorful, quiet, and serene. You may never want to leave this place except there are so many amazing sites within easy driving distance. Nanna and Friedrich greeted us at the property and showed us around. They left us a cake and a bread mix - both were delicious and so thoughtful. We didn’t want to leave - the home and scene are so beautiful.

Amazing Experience

Beautiful cottage in an absolutely incredible setting. Nanna and Fredrik make sure that you have everything you need and make you feel welcome and comfortable.Highlights are the geothermal outdoor hot tub and shower as well as the views and the nearby river.Also a fantastic location for visiting golden circle attractions. Strongly recommend this cottage to anybody visiting Iceland.

Excellent stay in a beautiful setting

We had an amazing visit to the home - amazing views and very well-appointed property. Nanna was a gracious host - even had mix ready for homemade breakfast bread! Would highly recommend - home was perfect for two families.

Picturesque Golden Circle House

Amazing views, wonderful hike to a waterfall, and a perfect hot tub experience just to start. The hosts are incredible and met us at the house to show us around and were very communicative throughout our stay. We stayed her with friends and the 5 children loved the accommodations. If this house gave more than 5 stars, I’d give it 10. Would definitely stay again!!

Scenic Stay

We all absolutely loved this house! I was captivated by the view from the deck and I’m so glad I took a chance bc it did not disappoint. The bedrooms and baths accommodated all 8 of us well and was an absolute dream during the northern lights season! This rental was better than I expected even from the pictures- but note— master suite is lovely but is detached from the main house and if you’re traveling from the states you may need Google translate to operate the kitchen appliances well. Trash disposal to the end of road was easy as we left each day. Hosts were so kind to meet us and show us around— make sure to take the suggested 20 minute hike around the property — we did during golden hour and it was really a highlight. I had planned to use the washer/ dryer as we were moving on mid trip but for a family of 8 it didn’t accommodate us well as it’s a combo and runs slower than what we are use to. Be carful— it also runs VERY hot on the dry cycle and may damage items. Overall I would definitely recommend this place if staying in the golden circle area! It was located so that we could go in every direction to see the sites and still be back within and hour and a half or less!

Even better in person!

We love love loved our stay. First off, the hosts are the loveliest most sincere. They treated us like invited guests. Truly. The house location, decor, and architecture is magnificent. The moment I stepped inside I was wowed, and taken by how much more impressive it is. The photos don’t do it justice. The house had robes, blankets, slippers, a nespresso machine, pantry essentials and every stocked item needed in a home for a comfortable stay. The next stop for us pales in comparison to the hospitality here. We encourage you to stay here and enjoy this very special place. ❤️

Perfect!

We were in Iceland to celebrate a milestone birthday with another couple. We had a lovely 4-night stay here and the layout - main house, studio cottage - worked well as it allowed us private space while sharing the living/dining room and kitchen. Our communication with Nanna was very easy and she was quick to answer any pre-arrival questions we had. She met us at the house to walk through all the necessary information, and then left sweets, beverages, and yummy bread for us to enjoy. The weather was warm and sunny that day so we had a great evening on the deck, enjoying her generosity. The house was very clean and quiet. We only used the primary bedroom in the main house and found the bed to be very comfortable. The studio cottage is a bit more spacious than the bedrooms in the main house, which are a bit snug. (We kept our clothes in them because we could spread out that way.) The kitchen was outfitted with everything we could possibly need, down to coffee and spices. The house is very conveniently located to the Golden Circle, and the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss are within an hour+ drive. As an added bonus, it has it's own little waterfall right outside it's front door. We highly recommend taking a walk to the river's edge to check it out.

Wonderful stay in beautiful location

My family and my sister's family loved our stay in this house so much. It is beautifully located, the views are incredible with a wrap around porch and huge floor to ceiling living room windows. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. There is a travel crib for infants, and comfortable beds for everyone else. There was a nice selection of kids toys there for the kids to play with and plenty of kitchen and other household supplies for the adults. We enjoyed soaking in the hot tub and taking walks down to the river and waterfall (you can see the river from the house, its beautiful). It is located close to a number of attractions such as Geysir, Bruarfoss, Gullfoss, Friedheimar, Secret Lagoon, Hruni Sheep's baths, Efstiladur etc. Nanna was a great host and very quickly responsive to any questions or needs we had. She met us at the property to give us the gate keys to get in, was easy to communicate with and very nice. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to come and enjoy the magical country of Iceland.

Great house, perfect for Golden Circle

A really great house in a beautiful spot at the heart of the Golden Circle. We were four adults and four teens and it fitted us well. One bedroom is in an annexe right next to the main house, which is nice for some extra privacy.

Beautiful, relaxing experience.

This far exceeded my expectations. Nanna was so welcoming and shared everything we needed to know to both enjoy our time in their home and our travels. Everything we could possibly need was in the home. After exploring the countryside during the day we loved soaking in the hot tub and relaxing. I would definitely choose Nanna and Fridrick’s home for my next trip. Such caring hosts!

Perfect ending to our vacation!

We spent the last four days of our 8 day trip here. It was the perfect place to end our Iceland trip. While there, we visited the golden circle spots of interest and went white water rafting. We really enjoyed the beautiful views, the comfortable home, the warm bread that Nanna made and the wine she left for us. It is a lovely home in a very peaceful setting. We enjoyed everything about this place and ate at a very nice restaurant about 7 minutes away.

Beautiful quiet location

This was a great location for our group of 8. Nice central location for a lot of the main attractions in the area. The views were so beautiful with the stream and waterfall. The house had a nice large area to gather, eat and play games. Nanna and Fridrick met us at the house and showed us around. Nanna had made some treats and had a bread all ready for us to throw in the oven. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect big family stay

We were two couples, one with three kids and one with one kid. This was the perfect place to stay for five days - we could have been happy staying at least a couple more days. The pictures did not do it justice! The kitchen was well stocked, there were lots of comfy places to sit all together or in small groups, and there were also places to go have quiet time. The beds, linens, and towels were all plush and comfortable - high quality! Nanna made check-in very easy and showed us around, which gave our stay a very personal, familial feel. The house is very private; all doors and windows face away from other homes in the area, so we get like we were the only ones around. The view was absolutely surreal - mountains, river, 180 degrees of clouds and changing weather, gorgeous fields, sunrise and sunset, and the Northern Lights one night - it just doesn’t get much better! There was a ton of exploring to do in the area - waterfalls and hikes in every direction - and when we got home, the hot tub was great and the kids enjoyed a little Netflix time. All in all: perfect.

Beautiful home in the golden circle

Our second time here, we had such a lovely holiday in 2017 for a family wedding we wanted to return. This is a lovely warm spacious house on 1 level with separate guest house. Access via gated entrance. This house has the most stunning view. Equipped with everything you need including a hot tub. Close to all the attractions the south has to offer, Very close to Gulfoss, Ghesirs and Kerid crater. We were lucky to see the Northern lights several times in 1 week! The owners were so helpful and thoughtful. (Thank you) We would definitely recommend this location and home.
