"Arrived to find the place locked up and had to make a phone call for someone to come to the pub to give us our room key. Apparently there was a problem of having no electricity due to the heat. No evening meal available and no bar; breakfast was average, with some folk having to wait a long time for service. The place was clean and room was comfortable."

"I paid extra for an airconditioned room however AC was not working. One of the beds was missing, there was a mattress on the floor which very dusty and not cleaned for a long time.
Wallls were stained. Windows were locked, not possible to open. it was the worst experience of a hotel. I do not recomend to anyone. I also would like a refund for this terrible service."

"The Guinness Arms had character rooms and the hallway was just as nice. Our room had aircon and also a skylight which had retractable blinds if you wanted to look at the sky or not.
Room was clean and cosy with coffee and tea facilities. A bottle of water was also supplied with a selection of biscuits. Iron and board in cupboard for those who want to sort the creases out.
Hotel was quiet and calm just the way we like it, we stayed in the week so not sure what it would be like at the...

"Very good staff; nice location; and this hotel has air conditioning. The ‘bad’ is that it’s trying to rebadge itself as ‘City Centre.’ It is not-there is a Premier in city centre and it’s not this one. The breakfast food deal is a nice option."

"Magnificent grounds, the approach on driving towards the Hall is stunning. It's a beautiful historic building with a very pleasant bar with lovely outdoor seating overlooking the grounds open until 10pm. Staff were polite, friendly and attentive. The breakfast was amazing. Lovely full cooked options and lots of fresh fruit with greek yoghurt and pastries etc ..

"I stayed here with my son. Room was really hot and therefore very uncomfortable. Fan supplied was very poor. We couldn't find the bar and couldn't gain access to the vending machines in the other building. Spent a sleepless night with no drinks. Couldn't voice our issues in morning as no one in reception."

"The air conditioning worked well both in our room albeit it was a little noisy. This was much appreciated in the current heatwave. The rest of the hotel was pleasantly cool too. Breakfast was good value although a choice of type of egg would have been nice. There was some fresh fruit and a good choice of bread. We ate in one evening and enjoyed our curries. The staff were all very pleasant. Recommended for a short stay."

"Great place to stay for Forest Live. Hotel is lovely, warm and welcoming. It was a warm day so quite hot inside but we spent time outside in the huge gardens, the bar was open and we sat next to the river. Breakfast was superb, fresh fruit and proper butchers sausages! Would definitely stay again."

"Very pleasant staff.Spacious clean, comfortable room,good WiFi,good tv. comfy bed, an ample,comfortable sofa and lovely bathroom with good quality towels.Large walk in shower with ample hot water and flow.
Ample parking right outside the hotel with no extra charge to use. A Morrisons right next door which also had a filling station and 24 hour small shop.
The communal area had tv. screens so you could enjoy sports etc. and the self service buffet breakfast was good but the range of food apart...
