April Cottage is a lovely cottage that offers comfortable accommodation for up to three guests. Situated in the Peak District in the centre of Youlgrave, this charming 250 year old cottage is ideal for walkers, cyclists and those looking for a relaxing break or a touring base from which to explore. The property boasts the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark, making this the ideal choice for those interested in an eco-friendly environment. The owner, who lives on-site, is at hand if you should need any advice about the local area or help with any issue that may arise.
Youlgrave is a village of limestone buildings and an impressive 12th century church, with three pubs, a village shop/tea room, vegetarian bakery, post office and garage, located above Lathkill and Bradford Dales. On an 11-mile radius it takes in the market towns of Buxton, Ashbourne and Chesterfield and is in close proximity to Bakewell and Matlock. Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House are both a short drive away and well worth the visit, and the former can also be reached within a very pleasant 40-minute walk. Shop and restaurant 200 yards, pub 100 yards.
