"The Avila La Fonda far exceeded our expectations!!! I rarely write reviews, but was compelled to write this one because I have been very disappointed in a number of our accommodations, even after reading numerous reviews before choosing a property. I was therefore a little skeptical about the Avila La Fonda. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was wonderful, the amenities outstanding, and the staff was very accommodating and efficient."

"The rooms are very plain with dated furniture and a hard uncomfortable mattress! Pillows were musty and misshapen. The breakfast was delicious and the balcony views wonderful! Parking is limited and disability access is not available for many rooms. No teabags in the room but the keurig machine, microwave, refrigerator and safe are appreciated. But did not seem worth $500 a night! Beach access has steep steps. Pool is small and crowded! Staff friendly!!!"

"Clean room"

"The room I was in, 216 looked like the last time it was upgraded was maybe in the 70s … when I arrived, the gentleman at the front desk put me in a room where there was some kind of construction or leak in issue or something going on, and I had to walk under plastic that was dripping water to get to my room. There was a generator next to my room that went turned on was so loud for the day I arrived and the day after I arrived. A bottle of Fiji water was five dollars, my fireplace did not work...

"The room walls are so thin that you can hear the pets and conversations from the next door, which is not very comfortable. I’m glad we got the upper floor; if we had the ground floor, it would be a nightmare to sleep. Considering the rate we paid for three nights, it’s not worth it."

"Room was outdated and not cleaned very well. When the upstairs used the bathroom you can hear the water running loudly through the pipes. Bed was very uncomfortable. If you stay on the bottom floors you will hear EVERYTHING above you. To top it off the alarm clock went off at 6am and got progressively louder until I went to turn it off. I wouldn’t stay again and don’t recommend"
