"My sister and I spent just a couple of nights here and truly fell in love with the house and staff. Every interaction was easy and kind, the house was incredibly well kept, and the grounds were gorgeous. It's located a bit out of the way which is perfect for minimizing crowds and noise! Our room was perfectly sized and the bed/bedding comfortable. All in all, a 10/10. Highly recommend to anyone in any stage of life."

"Delightful managers and staff, ready and eager to help. The room (3) itself was beautiful and cosy. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bedsheets smelled lovely. The shower was amazing, the bathroom gorgeous. The general decor of the room and bathroom were lovely. I would definitely stay here again! Unfortunately I didn’t have time (I was working) to sample the food, but I definitely will next time! If you have accessibility needs, let them know way ahead of time as most of the rooms are...

"Beautiful old hotel with amazing grounds & easy walk to the lake. The room was spacious for 3 adults & we were very well looked after. Only downside was mh husband not having his favourite bourbon & no tawny port for me!! Thats being picky!! "

"We had room 6 on ground floor which suited us it was a small double but very cosy and spotless. The tablet had all the info. Though as a digital dinosaur it took mea while to get used to it lovely toiletries and towels and brilliant fresh breakfast lived up to the reviews "

"This was our 3rd stay at St John's Lodge and yet again it did not disappoint. Great location, great room (which was upgraded when we arrived, a welcome surprise), great breakfast and amazing service from the Hosts Rich & Ada. Having free access to the Local health club and spa is another fantastic bonus, popping in after a hike to utilise the jacuzzi is great! We couldn't ask for more from St John's Lodge, Rich and Ada are excellent hosts and couldn't do more for us. We hope to return again...

The location was excellent...quiet and beautiful ....Windermere has everything from supermarkets to craft and walking gear shops, pubs to a variety of restaurants. We parked the car in front of The Hideaway, it was just a few minutes walk into the town, and we could also easily drive out to other locations. "The breakfast was superb. We tried the evening menu special which was a Pheasant breast.It wasn't the best I've tasted, it was nicely presented but it was rather salty and dry. The bed mattress provided a good nights sleep and the room was spacious and clean. Well worth the 5 stars"
