Girdwood is a small outdoor and skiing community located 30 miles south of Anchorage. Home of Mt. Alyeska and Alyeska Resort, Girdwood is the perfect place to spend your Alaskan getaway for skiing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and exploring south-central Alaska.

The Girdwood Valley Guest House is nestled in the trees with privacy, yet close enough to all amenities. The property is less than 1.5 miles to Girdwood Town Center and less than a mile to the Ski Day Lodge.

The house includes over 4,700 square feet of living area, along with multiple decks, hot tub, and EV charger. The large family room includes a large 4K Roku TV with Klipsch surround system, poker and pool tables, and a Bowflex adjustable weight bench set. There is a formal dining area, breakfast bar, wood stove, large custom kitchen with stainless appliances, three full baths, and a large laundry room. Each floor includes a Bluetooth TEAC / Curtis Mathes Vacuum Tube Stereo System. Beautiful original oil paintings throughout the house by Eugene Daymude, Charles Handford, Edmund Blouin, James Kendrick, Robert Rucker, and Collette Pope Heldner. As well, there is a garage large enough to park your vehicle and store outdoor gear. Enjoy the stellar views of the Girdwood Valley from the large windows in the living room, dining area, and from the deck.

House includes HD YouTube TV and best available Wi-Fi in Alaska (GCI RED).

The house is stocked with shampoos and conditioners, soaps, laundry detergent (Hypoallergenic Ecos), toilet paper, paper towels, condiments, dressings, popcorn, flour, sugar, cooking oils, vinegars, spices / seasonings, etc. The house has coffee stations in the basement and on the first floor that are stocked with coffee, tea, sugar, Truvia, Sweet 'N Low, and creamers.

Please note this is a residential neighborhood, loud parties are not allowed! As well, a maximum of the three cars at the house at one time and no parking in the street.

This was a great house for our group of 10. There was lots of space for everyone. The views are beautiful. The kitchen is large enough for us all to work together to make breakfast. We got to see the northern lights right from the living room.

This house is awesome, plenty of room for 7 adults. Clean, well stocked and warm. The game room, pool table and hot tub were all in great condition. Highly recommend this rental and will return. The host is also very responsive.

This is a wonderful house for a family lots of room to spread out. The master bedroom and bath upstairs are really impressive. The game room downstairs is great for watching movies and the entire place is spacious yet cozy. Checking in was easy and the host was always communicative. Great Christmas get away.

I gave this property a 4 instead of a 5 for a couple of reasons. The kitchen was lacking some basics like measuring tools, wine glasses (there were only a couple), paper napkins, foil, and plastic wrap. The bedroom doors squeaked, which was a problem because my husband got sick and I was trying to sneak in and out of our bedroom without waking him, which was impossible due to the squeaky door. The way it was advertised made me think it was a pretty easy walk into town, but it was quite far up the hillside, so would have been challenging, especially for the kids and elders. On the plus side, having the 4 king bedrooms and the bunk room was great. The beds were comfortable, the downstairs family room was a fun place for the family to gather, play games, watch a movie. The pool table was a huge hit! The view out the living room windows is incredible. You definitely feel like you're living in a treehouse on the side of a mountain. The hot tub was lovely after a long day of adventures. Jackie, the manager, was very communicative and responsive in the reservation process. I would definitely stay in this home again. The pros outweigh the relatively minor cons by a large degree.

Great host and house

We had a great stay at this house. The beds were comfortable and plenty of room for our group of 8. We enjoyed the wonderful view of the mountains and the spacious living areas. The kitchen was well equipped and we had plenty of bedding available. The host was prompt communicating with us and left clear instructions for everything. I highly recommend this host and this property.

This rental house goes far beyond a rental, it is truly a home away from home. I cannot think of anything that was not provided, everything in the VRBO description of the house is on point. This Alaska trip was a bucket list item for me and this house and Jackie the manager completely exceeded my expectations. Do not hesitate...CHOOSE THIS HOUSE!

Troop 5 Alaska exploration before summer camp

This home was everything we hoped for and more! It was gorgeous, spotlessly clean, and had more than enough space for our group of 12. The kitchen and bathroom amenities were incredibly convenient and made our stay so comfortable. The neighborhood in Girdwood was peaceful and beautiful, just minutes from the resort, yet felt wonderfully private. The home truly exceeded our expectations and ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Great time

The house was amazing. We had 3 less people than we expected but the space was perfect. There was plenty of everything we could possibly need. However, one complaint. The master bathroom shower head. My husband is 6’4” & totally didn’t fit under it. I’m 5’8” & just barely fit. We had to be very careful not to get water on the wood floors.

Why stay anywhere else...

We have stayed at this property multiple times and have never been disappointed. The one time the property was booked during our dates, we stayed at another property, and we were not impressed. In the past, we have stayed here with our special needs daughter, who loves the space. So open, clean, and a great view to top it off.
