The space was exactly as promised; clean, well kept-up, and the host was responsive. I liked the vintage "motor hotel" feel of the property, which goes along with the "Slumber Village" lore. It was central to getting around in Anchorage, but the neighborhood was quiet. I had everything I needed for my stay.

wish the curtains in the bedroom were actually black out. it was good for one night before going to the airport in the morning but I wouldn't want to stay there for a long trip

This was a short stay as a place to sleep and shower before catching a flight home. For Anchorage you can't beat the price, and it's pretty conveniently located.

We had a great stay!

The property was just as we expected - super clean, easy to get to, and easy to check in. Ross is a great host and was always quick to reply to messages. We will stay here again in the future!

Great location from airport , very clean

The parking was great for our one vehicle, the coded entry is perfect, the space was cute and clean. We stayed just one night to sleep after a late flight and it was perfect before starting our journey.

Overnight stay with dogs

Rental was good for the price. Not the best location for walking dogs but it works for a short trip. If traveling without dogs, this would have been perfect for us.

My stay was 9 days in December, the host Ross was very resonsive to needs and questions. The location was ideal for my trip to access both downtown and areas of midtown via a short uber ride. There is an amazing dinner called Jackies just about a 5 min walk away. The mattress was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept on.The cabin itself was a little rough around the edged in places as you would expect from a building of this age and some wear and tear that could use some touch ups but overall, this was a great place to call my home for during my stay.

Check-in and communication with the host was wonderful. He provided suggestions as to must-see places to visit in the area & events, which was very helpful. Reading about the history of the place was great. The accommodations were cozy & substantial. The only 2 suggestions I have is to replace or install window screens in some of the windows and install a shelf on the bedroom wall above the left side of the bed for a place to put your phone, glasses, etc.

This was my first time using a VRBO. I live in Alaska so I was in Anchorage for appointments not a vacation. The Borealis Barn House was an excellent place to stay, well located for all my appointments. The residence was very clean very, and nicely decorated with important essentials like coffee and sugar, dishes, microwave, mini fridge and freezer. I also appreciated the full soap dispensers, soft linens and big TV with Roku to login for streaming channels and free Wi-Fi. There was a lot of sun on the unit when we were there, but some windows opened with screens that helped ventilation as well as a fan in the bedroom that kept things cool. I was also really glad to have off street parking right in front of the unit. The most important thing to me, however, was when I had an urgent question, Ross replied within minutes and alleviated the concern I had. I will likely stay here again when I travel for appointments and will definitely recommend this location to friends.
