Stay in a charming townhouse in the heart of Amboise, set on one of the town’s most beautiful streets, between the Royal Château and Clos Lucé. In a quiet and privileged setting, the house offers 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a private shower room and toilet, a warm living space with a fully equipped kitchen, and high-speed Wi-Fi. Everything is walkable—landmarks, restaurants, shops, and scenic Loire walks. An ideal base for families or friends exploring the Loire Valley.


The house:

This charming townhouse in Amboise, spread over three levels, combines elegance, modern comfort, and an exceptional location.

The bright living area includes a cozy lounge and a fully equipped open kitchen, perfect for preparing and sharing meals after a day exploring the Loire Valley (stovetop, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, full set of cookware and dishes).

The house has 3 air-conditioned bedrooms, each with its own private shower room and toilet, offering comfort and privacy:
2 bedrooms with double beds (55 in / 140 cm)
1 bedroom with a queen bed (63 in / 160 cm) and a single bed, ideal for a family
Baby crib available on request

⚠️ The house is spread over three levels and is not suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Although there is no garden or terrace, the house enjoys a picturesque view, and the Loire River banks, trails, and natural areas are just a few minutes’ walk away.

This was a charming home that was very comfortable and convenient for our family of 6 staying there. We appreciated the homey details and provision of games for the family to enjoy. Some of the spaces were a little tight, but that’s to be expected with a renovated historic building. The host was friendly, flexible, and responsive. We enjoyed our time here!

Lovely Stay, Excellent Location

Alexandra's lovely home is in a perfect spot to visit the Loire Valley. Ample free parking is right around the corner. Separate washer and dryer worked well, but be sure to empty dryer reservoir and leave the closet door open to ventilate. Bedrooms and bathrooms are available on the top floor and basement, just note that you'll have to use stairs to access them. Restaurants, cafés, wine bars, boulangeries, and grocery stores are within easy walking distance, as is the impressive Château d'Amboise and Leonardo da Vinci's manor house. Alexandra was very responsive to inquiries during our stay. Highly recommended.

Perfect location!

We really enjoyed this place. It had so much character and was perfect for exploring Amboise and beyond. The "cave like" environment took some getting used to, but it ended up being our favorite place to stay out of our 2 week vacation. Well recommended.

La maison est très bien située dans Amboise et calme. Les chambres sont au-dessus et en-dessous de la pièce de vie ce qui donne de l'indépendance à chacun.

Ambrosia in Amboise

We absolutely loved staying at Alexandra’s house in Amboise. The location, ambience, highend finishings and a 20 minute walk from the train station: all was well, even with a construction project down the road toward the Chateau Royal. I’ll say it again: we absolutely loved our stay in Amboise—unfortunately not for anyone with mobility issues

Cosy stay in rainy Loire

We spent 6 nights in Amboise as part of a 2 week Loire Valley trip, where the weather, at the end of Sept/early October, was consistently rainy and chilly. It is a great base for seeing lots of chateaux. The pros - it is in a quiet location a short walk up from the main town and convenient for seeing Amboise’s sites. The heating worked well, important given how damp and rainy it was. There is a washer and dryer - great for longer stays. Alexandra was easy to reach and very friendly. Beware - the town of Amboise is doing major road construction, and the street where the house is located will be inaccessible to cars for months, making getting luggage in and out of the house a challenge. Alexandra can give options. The house is ancient, but has been modernized and fitted out to meet holiday needs. There were two of us - and we used the upstairs bedroom and bathroom, which were cosy. There was good lighting and lots of cupboard space. The living room was compact but fine for us. The kitchen has all the usual equipment you need to prepare your own meals. The other bedrooms/bathrooms are downstairs from the street level, with windows on the back of the lower part of the house. There were lots of steps up and down to access.them. Make sure to pick up supplies before you arrive - apart from coffee and basic condiments. Within a 10 minute walk there is a small grocery as well as a wonderful bakery and many restaurants.

Great apartment in convenient location

Roomy and quiet apartment is just steps from fabulous Clos de Luce, and minutes away from the bustling area of Amboise, lots of restaurants, grocery, services. Apartment has lots of charm, very quiet, comfy. Better outfitted than most VRBO in France, has everything you need! Not much public transport, so do be prepared to walk if you don't have a car. Taxis hard to get, Uber nonexistent. Train station is about 1.25 mi away. But getting around Loire area is easy by train once you get there. Be sure to catch the Friday/Sunday market! No

Privacy for 3 couples, comfort and location

We thought this place was much more charming in person than in photos! We loved the uniqueness of this property which was on different levels. Each of the 3 bedrooms had its own bathroom which is impossible to find in France. Walked a few minutes to town which is super close and it’s right next to chateau de clos Lucé. Great place to explore in and around Amboise.
