    The old granite house is located on the left bank of the Tâmega River.
    The property was completely restored in 2012, respecting the original architecture, being endowed with all the comfort requirements.
    All the space by the house and pool you can have stunning views of the river and its green banks.
    The house has an excellent sun exposure, with all rooms and rooms facing south / west.
    So they can enjoy maximum comfort in all seasons, all rooms are equipped with hot / cold air conditioning. There is also a fireplace in the main room.
    Outside you can make grilled on bbq. and baked in a wood oven. You can also enjoy the magnificent climate cooling down in the pool.
    The house consists of two floors. Previously the bottom floor was for the winery and agricultural activities and higher housing floor. After the refurbishment, the whole building began to be intended only to housing.
    Thus, the house consists of lounge with sitting area and dining room, kitchen, 1 double bedroom and en-suite on the ground floor. On the 1st floor there are two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large mezzanine with two sofa beds.
    Over the 15 000m2 property can enjoy the greenery and the very landscape of this area, as well as waterfalls.
    The historic town of Amarante is only 4km and worth a visit to the historic sites. Also throughout the region the cuisine is of a rich and highly appreciated regional sweets.
    The city of Porto is only 60km, 30 minutes with direct access by motorway. Be sure to visit the capital of the North and the Port wine cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Fantastisk sted med en bedårende beliggenhed. Eneste der kan trække lidt ned i den sammenhæng er den larmende Aqua Park på den anden side af floden. Super charmerende hus og suverænt pool område. Alt i alt en rigtig dejlig ferie.

Mooi vakantieverblijf in Amarante

Het is een fijne vakantiewoning op een mooie plek. De toegangsweg naar de woning is erg steil en smal. De woning is geschikt voor zes volwassenen, niet voor acht! In totaal zijn er 2 kledingkasten, er ontbreekt een kledingkast in een slaapkamer De keuken is goed geoutilleerd. Prettig dat er 3 badkamers zijn echter verlichting in deze badkamers is onvoldoende. We hadden een aantal dagen geen warm water maar de eigenaar heeft dit opgelost. Het zwembad en tuin zijn prachtig. Leuk om fruit en groente uit de tuin te mogen gebruiken. Buiten is mooi overdekt terras waar je prettig kunt eten en vertoeven. Ook is een goede mogelijkheid om te barbecueën. De eigenaar heeft prima gezorgd dat er voor kleine kinderen een babybedje, kinderstoel en speelgoed beschikbaar. De gastvrije welkom met fles port en eigen gebakken koekjes hebben we zeer gewaardeerd. We kijken terug om een mooie vakantie.

Schmuckstück in privilegierter Lage

Vom 24.08. bis zum 31.08.2019 verbrachten wir (2 Erwachsene und 5 Jugendliche) eine traumhafte Woche in diesem wunderschönen Haus. Es handelt sich um ein altes Bauernhaus, welches in den letzten Jahren aufwändig renoviert wude und in technischer Hinsicht nichts zu wünschen übrig lässt. Auch die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet. Vermisst habe ich lediglich einen Silikonpinsel zum einölen des zu grillenden Gemüses aus dem hauseigenen Garten sowie ein Knoblauchpresse aber das ist wirklich jammern auf hohem Niveau ;-)) Die Besitzer sind eine Seele von Mensch: jederzeit erreichbar, freundlich, entgegenkommend und hilfsbereit. Sei es nun eine Wegbeschreibung, weil die Navi-Software die offiziell angegebene Adresse nicht kennt... oder die Flasche Portwein und ein selbstgebackener Kuchen zur Begrüssung... oder mega-schnelle Abhilfe bei der Behebung eines Defekts an der Hauselektrik infolge eines Blitzeinschlags. Das Anwesen ist in einem top gepflegten, tadellosen Zustand und sieht wirklich genau so aus wie auf den Fotos. Das absolute Highlight ist jedoch die Lage: oben am Hang über dem Flußtal gelegen mit einem wundervollen Ausblick, sei es nun von der Terrasse aus, vom Pool oder aus der Hängematte. Der in anderen Bewertungen erwähnte Wasserpark auf der gegenüberliegenden Flußseite ist akkustisch zwar wahrnehmbar, allerdings nur sehr sporadisch und in einem für uns nicht störenden Ausmaß. Während unseres Aufenthaltes war sporadisch hin- und wieder mal der eine oder andere dienstbare Geist anwesend (z.B. Gärtner, Poolpflege) aber alles sehr dezent und kaum wahrnehmbar. Das Haus bietet eine gute Ausgangsbasis für Tagesausflüge in die Region (35 Minuten nach Porto sowie etliche lohnende Reiseziele in einem Radius von ca. einer Stunde Fahrtzeit). Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen und werden mit Sicherheit noch einmal wiederkommen.

Maison idéale pour des vacances en famille

Nous avons passé 2 semaines inoubliables dans cette belle région du Portugal. Superbe maison : très fonctionnelle, très bien équipée et décorée avec goût par la propriétaire. Et que dire du grand et beau jardin et des légumes du potager mis à notre disposition ! Et la piscine à débordement avec vue imprenable sur le fleuve, que du bonheur ! D'autant plus qu'il a fait beau tous les jours. Il sera difficile de trouver une location d'u tel niveau pour nos prochaines vacances... Obrigada ! Quelle vue splendide.

La maison est adorable avec beaucoup d'avantages - climatisation très appréciable, une piscine impeccable à débordement qui donne sur le fleuve tel que l'on la voit sur la photo, une belle décoration, des douches puissantes avec beaucoup d'eau chaude, une bonne literie. En ce qui concerne le parc aquatique, oui, on se demande comment on a pu accorder un permis de construire à cette chose qui est une vraie plaie dans le paysage. En arrivant, on se pose la question par rapport au bruit, mais honnêtement, en dehors de deux ou trois fois (10-15 minutes) dans la journée où il y a une sorte de folie, on entend à peine des cris et des rires. Ce ne serait certainement pas une raison de ne pas venir profiter de cet endroit superbe.

Lovely house not too far from Porto

We spent a very nice week here at the end of June. Greeted by Eduardo and his parents who had provided cake and a bottle of port. Nothing was too much trouble - Eduardo doing the translating. The polytunnel garden below the property is for the use of guests and we loved picking vegetables, salad and the strawberries. The pool is very nice and well maintained, and the house and pool have good and interesting views onto the river. The water-park opposite was not too intrusive, and we had all our evening meals outside in a lovely tranquil setting. The house details were a little unclear regarding the bathrooms, but each of the three double bedrooms has its own well equipped bathroom with decent showers and plenty of hot water, Choice of two decent sized supermarkets in Amarante nearby - Intermarche and Continental. Continental was a bit easier to get to and better stocked. Amarante was a very nice town (our favourite of the towns we visited in the area), not too big, and with good restaurants. Overall - highly recommended if you want to stay near here, and thank you Miquelina.

Wonderful holiday

We (three adults and a five year old) had a lovely week staying in Miquelina and Eduardo's property. The house is easily accessible from the motorway but is down a little road so not affected by road noise. It took us less than an hour from Porto airport. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and a well stocked veg patch. We were met at the house by Miquelina and Eduardo and their daughter who translated for them. They kindly gave us a home made cake and a bottle of Porto and showed us around. We were able to help ourselves to freshly grown vegetables throughout the week and there is an abundance of fresh mint for mojitos! The photos of the house are an accurate representation and the kitchen is well equipped for indoor and outdoor cooking. We also had access to a washing machine. We really enjoyed the local area. We visited the beach near Porto and saw some rockpools; caught the end of the June celebrations in Amarante, with a fun fair and a parade; walked the Paiva walkway; visited the castle and abbey in Guimaraes and spent the day in Porto on the way back to the airport. The rest of the time was spent around the terrace and pool. Overall we would highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely home, magical views, perfect location

We were warmly received by Miquelina and Eduardo who oriented us to their historic home and property and left us a cake and a bottle of port to begin our stay. Figs, quince and plums were ripe in the orchard and vegetables fresh from the garden made for delicious meals prepared in their fully equipped kitchen. We delighted in watching the early morning fog fade as the sun reached the river valley making beautiful views from each room and the patio. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed the more than ample, very clean, comfortably decorated space. Travel to Oporto, the Douro Valley and north is easy from this location. Amarante is a charming town just up the road and has all we needed for groceries, wine (before we began our tasting tours!) and restaurants. Obrigada Miquelina, Eduardo and Eduardo for your hospitality! We're so happy to have started our visit to wonderful Portugal at your home in the north. We loved your house!

Wunderschönes Haus. Sehr ruhig aber gut erreichbar

Wir – 3 Erwachsene und 3 Kinder (12,12, 9) haben 1 Woche in diesem wunderschönen Haus verbracht. Das Haus liegt im Hang über dem Rio Tamega mit schöner Aussicht von Pool und Terrasse. Zum Haus gehört ein großes Grundstück mit Garten in dem man sich frei bedienen kann: Paprika, Salat, Erdbeeren, Melonen, Zucchini,... Jedes der 3 Doppelzimmer hat ein eigenes Bad. Zusätzlich sind 2 große, gemütliche Schlafsofas vorhanden (nicht im Wohnzimmer, sondern Durchgangszimmer auf der oberen Etage). Alle Zimmer sind mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Die Küche bietet alles, was man benötigt und auch viel davon. Von der Küche aus gelangt man auf die Terrasse mit Grill und Steinofen. Nach 5 Minuten Fahrt erreicht man mehrere Supermärkte und den Ortskern des kleinen Städtchens Amarante, 45 Minuten Fahrtzeit benötigt man zum Flughafen Porto (Maut-Autobahn ca. 5 EUR). Im Umkreis von ca. 1h Fahrt sind mehrere tolle Städte und Nationalparks erreichbar. Die Besitzer sind großartig. Die Kommunikation funktioniert problemlos. Die Besitzer selbst sprechen nur portugiesisch (hier hilft Google Translator), ihr Sohn hilft aber gerne und schnell in Englisch aus. Eine kurze SMS nach Landung und 2h später (nach Gepäckaufnahme und Automiete) wurden wir herzlich empfangen haben den Hausschlüssel entgegengenommen. Da wir sehr früh abgereist sind, konnten wir den Schlüssel einfach im Haus zurücklassen und die Tür zuziehen. Hier waren wir nicht das letzte mal :)

ES UN LUGAR ESPECIAL

La casa y su entorno son espectaculares. Es un lugar para el descanso, tranquilo y acogedor. Su situación invita a hacer escapadas y conocer un poco más de este precioso país. Muy agradecidos.

Die beste Wahl, die wir je getroffen haben!

Das Haus und die ganze Anlage sind nicht zu übertreffen! Die Ausstattung ist in jedem Detail vom Feinsten. Die Freundlichkeit der Vermieter-Familie ist überwältigend! Man darf sich sogar im Gemüsegarten bedienen! Danke, Miquelina, für den feinen Kuchen zum Empfang und den guten Portwein! Ein Haus, eine Anlage, eine Landschaft, ein Blick, den man nie vergessen wird und wo man sich immer zurückwünscht! Danke Danke Danke!

Lovely house, great location

We are four mature adults (one married couple plus two single women) who have travelled together for numerous years, renting houses in several European countries. This house certainly met our needs with three comfortable bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. When we arrived, we were greeted by our gracious host Miquelina and her husband, both of whom don't speak English. However, their charming son (I"m sorry I can't remember his name!) was there as well and served as both host and translator. A fresh-baked cake and a fresh bottle of Port assured our welcome as well. The house is furnished comfortably and tastefully. The kitchen has everything you may need. It was supplied with many staples, including coffee to get us going, sugar, salt, etc. The property has a lovely large garden and we were invited to harvest vegetables from it, which we did and thoroughly enjoyed. (Tomatoes, zucchini, beans, lettuce, herbs.) The swimming pool is a wonderful luxury. It is beautifully situated on the property and we took advantage of it every day after our day of sight-seeing. There is a lovely deck with comfortable furniture, including a large table that served as our dining table every night. Somehow there are no mosquitoes and at dusk the ubiquitous flies seem to go to sleep, so being outside was a pleasure. We had dinner by candlelight and then played cards on the same table until midnight. The house is located very conveniently for day-trips. We easily traveled to the Douro valley, visited Braga and Guimareis, and spent two separate days in Porto. The house is located outside the very charming town of Amarante and we loved our time there as well. It was very easy and quite pleasant to make all arrangements with Miquelina. She was wonderfully responsive and obviously enjoys making sure her guests our comfortable. Our only reservation about this house involves the water park across the river. The music there begins mid-morning and continues until dusk. On our second day there (Sunday) apparently they had a guest DJ and the thumping music was quite intrusive. Although the rest of the week never had music that was quite so intrusive, we did live in fear that it might happen again. Happily, it didn't. If you are the kind of person who goes to the beach and doesn't mind hearing the music of the person next to you, you will be fine. As classical musicians, we were quite distracted by the sound. Despite that, we loved the house.

Simplemente fantástico!

Portugal es una país que nunca deja de sorprendernos. La amabilidad de sus gentes, su educación, su cultura,el cariño con el que nos acogen, la gastronomía y sus bellos paisajes. Esta vez hemos tenido el placer de descrubir Amarante y disfrutar de esta maravillosa casa que se encuentra en un bello paraje natural. Sus vistas del río Tameiga son impresionantes, la decoración, su ubicación, la tranquilidad que allí se respira... la hacen el lugar ideal para disfrutar de unos dias de relax y poder conocer un poquito mas de nuestro país vecino. Gracias Miquelina y Gonzalo por vuestra atención y confianza, y por dejarnos disfrutar de vuestra casa, y gracias también por el detalle de bienvenida (estaba riquísimo). Ha sido un fin de semana fantástico! Volveremos.
