"Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems. The light in the mirror one side had dimmed. Very central to York 1/2 and hour and 1 hour from Bridlington. There is a manned bar, but on Wednesday night it wasn't open which...

"We only had a short stay there but the hotel and rooms are spotless, staff friendly and helpful, excellent food and well stocked bar. Ample parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would love to go back again. Thanks guys and gals 👍"

"Only one criticism I have is about the parking .There are only 2 parking spaces at the B&B this only came to my attention when I had booked and received the welcome email/text .i was lucky while I was staying I managed to get one for the 3 days .Other than its a great place to stay very clean and well maintained ."

"If you need a clean bed and spacious room close to the downtown area and the train station, this is a good option. Clean room and location this is it for this hotel. We have barely crossed the entry door and they were already hard selling an upgrade and other amenities. "The staff at Ascot House were great. The breakfasts are pretty much set with some exceptions if you don't like something, the chef tries to accommodate when it's possible which is a great thing to be able to offer. The owner June does a great job with keeping Ascot House friendly and accessible to all people. We had a lovely time staying here and visiting York."

"We had a very stressful check-in as the receptionist insisted I had made two separate bookings and that one of our rooms was only for one night, the other for two. I had my Expedia email for both rooms both for 2 nights. We asked for quiet rooms so were given room next to the road, overlooking the carpark entrance and the bins! "This has got to be one of the friendliest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel staff were so lovely and helpful; they always greeted you with a smile and made you feel so welcome. The hotel is ideally placed to visit York with a pleasant 5-10 minute walk from the main sights and river. The rooms were comfortable and the breakfast delicious. I’d highly recommend this to anyone visiting York and would definitely stay again."

"Decent sized room (stayed in deluxe double) for 2 nights. Admittedly didn’t feel particularly deluxe as the furniture was old and it felt a little tired. Clean enough but could do with a refurb. Car charging onsite was handy and good location without being stuck in city centre."
