"My experience in the Hotel Mercure Monte Igueldo was disappointing. There was no view to the mountains as the room was advertised; moreover, you could barely open the window. The room had a strong disgusting smell, that seemed to be coming from the bathroom drains. In addition, the soundproofing was extremely poor; we could clearly hear conversations from neighboring rooms, making it very difficult to get a good night’s rest. "My first complaint is with the quality of beds , they are the cheapest kind, the hotel tried to address my complaint by putting a mattress topper on but it just made it worse. Secondly the towels that were given to us were stained with dried blood , not good by any standard ! "Everyone was very welcoming and couldn't help you enough, giving tips for trips, booking bus tours etc. Very pleasant and friendly staff. The room was beautiful, clean and every amenity you needed. The only criticism is that there was no door into the bathroom, there is one to the toilet and shower. This is a personal preference to properly separate the two areas, it would not stop me from coming here again"
