"Our first trip to Barbados and we chose the Royalton Essence. Its a brand new resort and so we got a big discount for coming during soft launch. The report is amazing with beautiful rooms and a swimable beach great for snorkeling. The staff are the highlight of the resort. The people are amazingly friendly and they go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. There is entertainment throughout the day and at night. Everyone we met had a great time. We will be back!"

Have to do more about keeping the birds at bey in the dining room. They were much too aggressive and had too much open access to the buffet presenting potential health concerns. "We had a very enjoyable stay at Sugar Bay Barbados, thanks largely to its fantastic location, great food, and excellent staff, though there are a few areas that could be improved. The location is brilliant, with a beautiful beachfront setting, and the watersports were great, adding real value to the stay. "Spent 5 days at the Club and would recommend looking at other locations. This resort is OLD and TIRED! The furniture in the rooms are just barely hanging on, the beds are horribly uncomfortable. All the chairs felt like they would collapse at any moment. The bathrooms are small and the showers are dark & dank. There is so much build up in the tiles would recommend wearing shower shoes. The resort is three floors with no elevator. The pools are small and dirty, everyday there was junk/gunk...

"Beautiful beach and great rooms. The food and beverage let this hotel down. Very little choice on the menu and the quality was not great. The website states 2 restaurants to choose from, only one restaurant was open at a time. The beach/ pool drinks service was non existent. Many guests chose to eat elsewhere. This could be an amazing hotel with the right leadership."

"Best stay ever! Lost my phone tho and security was not helpful at all!! But everyone and everything else there … could not complain! Staff even put together a little birthday set up for my 4 year old and he loved it!"

"The hotel has a lovely location and the staff are so friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the food, particularly breakfast. It used to be so good but has gone downhill. This wouldn’t put me off returning because the bedroom refurbishment is greatly improved and the staff are so nice."
