Property Overview
On 6 private acres, River Ridge Camp is a 1906 family retreat that has been meticulously renovated to retain the charm and beauty of its history, while blending in modern design, amenities and comforts. Perched on a wide clearing, the home, decks and lawn boast panoramic views of the Stephenson range and Whiteface Mountain. Down the slope from the house, you’ll find over 500 feet of private waterfront on the West Branch of the Ausable River, a premier trout fishing waterway.

Perfect for families, the camp is just 6 minutes from Whiteface Mountain and less than 20 minutes to Lake Placid, yet offers a sense of privacy, comfort and serenity that feels worlds apart. Wake up to the sounds of the river, and enjoy ever-changing views of the mountains and treetops from your bedroom, the great room, the wraparound deck, hot tub or screened-in porch. There are views everywhere!

Inside the 5-bedroom, 2.5-bath home you’ll find tasteful, high-quality appointments including premium bedding, original hardwood flooring, tiled bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen with granite countertops, stainless appliances and induction range. Our home has fast 500mpbs fiber internet with whole-home WiFi and a wireless sound system. Sleeps up to 11.

Amenities include: 6-person hot tub, fire pit, grill, wraparound deck, screened-in porch, hammock, outdoor bench swing, large yard, Roku smart TVs, central AC and heat with multiple zones, fast wifi, washer/dryer, ample parking, pack’n play and high chair. The 120-yr-old fireplace is decorative only.

For security on this large property, we have 2 exterior cameras facing the driveway.

Dog-Friendly! We welcome responsible owners with well-mannered dogs! Maximum of 2 dogs UNDER 40 LBS.

Bedroom Details:
The River Ridge Camp sleeps up to 11 guests.

Bedroom 1: The Primary Bedroom is on the 1st floor and has a king bed with a dresser that converts to a desk, a chair and a large closet. A 6-foot sliding glass door offers stunning mountain views and direct access to the wraparound deck. Open a pocket door to the windowed en-suite bathroom, featuring a fully-tiled walk-in shower with dual-head showerhead, a toilet and sink.

Bedroom 2: Through a door from the great room, the cozy den contains a sleeper sofa, a large desk, chair and 50-inch smart TV. Windows view the lawn and trees.

Bedroom 3: The first upstairs bedroom features a queen bed, a closet and small dresser. Windows view trees and the side yard.

Bedroom 4: The middle upstairs bedroom includes a twin XL-over-queen bunk bed, a dresser and a closet. The window views the side yard.

Bedroom 5: The last upstairs bedroom has a king bed, closet, dresser and nightstand. A vaulted ceiling and 6-foot window offer a feeling of openness coupled with stunning mountain views.

High quality bed sheets are included. The beds have premium mattresses, comfortable and inviting for a restful night's sleep under beautiful, warm quilts. Extra pillows are on the beds for your enjoyment, and spare blankets are available for chilly nights. Bedrooms are equipped with ceiling lighting as well as lamps that offer a softer glow for reading or relaxing. There is a pack’n play available if needed.

Bathroom details
En-suite Master Bath: The fully renovated light-filled bathroom, separated from the master bedroom with a pocket door, includes a full-size tiled walk-in shower with dual showerhead, toilet and original cast iron sink. On the 1st floor.

Half Bath: The half bath is on the 1st floor accessible from the great room, and includes a toilet and original cast iron sink.

Upstairs Bath: The airy renovated upstairs bath has a tile surround, the original clawfoot tub with new tub/shower hardware, toilet, and original cast iron sink.

Towels, toilet paper and hotel-sized soap bars are provided.

Living/Dining Space Details

The double-height great room is the heart of the home; the many windows supply ample light and mountain views from any angle. The centerpiece is the 120-year-old original stone fireplace and chimney — due to its age, this beautiful fireplace is decorative only. The living area includes two leather couches, a large coffee table, and a cozy daybed for extra lounging. New lighting and ceiling fans complement the high ceilings. The large Roku smart TV allows for additional entertainment.

The dining area is anchored by the large farmhouse dining table, which is set up for 8 and can expand to fit 10. It is conveniently located next to the open kitchen. A strap-on high chair is available if needed.

Kitchen:

The large, completely new kitchen is open to the great room and includes granite countertops and backsplash. There is ample storage between the many cabinets and the walk-in pantry. The large peninsula offers additional prep space and seating for 3. Appliances include an induction stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, and slow cooker. Pots, pans, and bakeware are supplied, as well as full dishware, cups, utensils, wine glasses, children’s tableware, and kitchen towels. Salt, pepper, dish soap, and a sponge are also provided. Guests are responsible for food, additional spices, and condiments.

The propane grill is located outside and grill utensils are stocked in the kitchen.

Outdoor Living:
The blend of indoor/outdoor living is the true beauty of River Ridge Camp. The great room opens to the expansive, wraparound deck and breathtaking views. A large screened in porch with a comfy sectional sofa allows you to soak in the outdoors no matter the forecast. The deck includes comfortable Adirondack chairs for lounging, a picnic table for outdoor dining and a hammock for relaxing. You can enjoy both mountain and river views from the west-facing deck.

The hot tub sits on a platform just below the main deck, where up to 6 can relax and take in the surroundings. Continue on to the expansive, lush lawn where you can play or head over to the fire pit to enjoy s’mores at sunset.

Take a short walk down the slope to the West Branch of the Ausable River. We have over 500 ft of waterfront for you to explore, trout fish or just enjoy the peaceful sounds of the moving water.


Other Details:

We are dog-friendly! We welcome responsible owners with well-mannered dogs. Maximum of 2 dogs UNDER 40 LBS. We do not allow cats or other animals. Note the large yard is secluded from the road and neighbors by trees and shrubs, but it is not fenced in.

Plenty of parking is available, and the u-shape driveway is flat and easily accessible from a main road. There is no garage available for guest use.

Linens are provided, including bed sheets, pillows, quilts, blankets, washcloths, bath towels and kitchen towels, to use during your stay. The following items are minimally supplied (enough to get you started): toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, laundry soap, and bath soap.

We do not supply condiments, coffee, spices other than salt and pepper, hand towels, beach towels, or shampoo.

Cell phone service can be spotty, you can enable wifi-calling on your phones with the wifi at the house. A landline phone is available for domestic calls

A plow service shovels snow (above 5 inches) in winter. Sand and a snow shovel are available on the front deck for guest use. All-wheel drive is highly recommended in the winter in this region.

Wood (for fire pit use only) is available to purchase at the house. Please do not bring your own wood to the region, this is against the law. The house fireplace is decorative only.

The owners and rental team of River Ridge Camp - Adirondacks take tremendous pride in ensuring that it is perfect for each guest’s vacation. We are on call 24 hours a day for any issue during your stay.

Select USA & Canadian holidays are subject to a 3 to 5-night minimum stay, otherwise there is a 2-night minimum stay. Pricing includes nightly rent, cleaning fee, Damage Protection Policy fee, and 5% Essex County bed tax. The Damage Protection fee covers accidental damage to furniture, appliances, electronic devices, windows, doors, and any home resource up to $1,500. If damages exceed $1,500, guests agree to cover the difference.

Impeccable view and lovely well maintained home

We stayed with our family of 4+ an additional family of four, and our little dog. This was an absolutely lovely place to stay… The view of the mountains gazing across the river on site are unparalleled. Just spent a ton of time on the deck, just gazing out at them. Everything is very well organized and whatever isn’t already in the house you can easily get at the nearby grocery stores or Sunday farmers market. We loved her stay and can’t wait to return.
