Well we were welcomed by Selma, who was a very pleasant, friendly and efficient host. The room was very comfortable and well equipped….even a little bottle of fresh milk for our tea and coffee, plus a few cookies for us. There was also water available in small bottles in the fridge. The breakfasts were excellent, fresh fruit and squeezed orange juice! A great selection every day!! The little village had a co-op fully stocked, art store and more across from the station. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to take the train into Whitby……We’ll be back some day…..😊

Very delightful stay. Very friendly. The surroundings take you back to a time gone by with Grosmont station nearby and the steam trains that go to Pickering and Whitby.

A beautiful light and airy house, tastefully decorated in a lovely location five minutes walk from notalgic steam train station Spotlessly clean, beautiful breakfast table very classy

We stayed two consecutive nights. For the second breakfast we indicated we needed an early breakfast as we had to leave to catch the first train from Grosmont at 7.45 to travel home to Scotland. The next train was two hours later. The landlady said 7.15 was too early for a breakfast and offered nothing, not even a take away for the train or a tray to have in our room. We left at 7.15 and then managed to get something to eat at 9.30 when we changed trains. Hospitality Grosmont style, not impressed

Quiet and quaint

Loved the B&B, owners were friendly, rooms clean and it is such a quaint setting. Stone throw away from train station. Food was lovely. Set in a small village so it’s quiet. It is quite hilly so be aware if you have mobility issues.

Fantastic stay at Grosmont House

We were very impressed with our stay. Selma was the PERFECT HOST. The welcome was perfect, when we found it! Good parking on site. The bedroom, although smallish, was very clean & the purpose. The bathroom was great with fantastic shower. All GREAT NO PROBLEMS CREDIT TO ALL

A great place for relaxing break!

Another great stay at Grosmont House. It was really convenient for access to/from Grosmont Station as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The room was clean nicely arranged, it had all the accessories you’d need. The staff, yet again, were fantastic and friendly! The breakfast was brilliant too! We shall be back again!

Great for a few days exploring moors and Whitby

It took us 2 goes to spot the lane leading up to the property but there was space to park even though a few others were there. The property is beautifully appointed and we were greeted on arrival even though we were before 4pm. Lovely quiet location even though near the rail line with steam trains. Well appointed room and modern shower room. Good choice for breakfast Pity about the foggy weather on the moors but a lovely few days

A nice place in a great location just a 5 minute walk from Grosmont Station. Its not a modern hotel, and rooms are not soundproofed so you can expect to overhear other guests coming and going. The showers are difficult to set to the right heat and are affected by other people using water. A bit of modernisation would help. Decor in room dated and could do with refreshing but otherwise, a nice friendly place to spend a few nights.

View of steam trains.

This B&B could be described as quirky! Met by owner Chris when we arrived. Room was ok but bathroom is very small. Breakfast had to be ordered the night before, bacon had a lot of fat & sausages a lot of herbs. Nice touch was the fresh milk & water in fridge along corridor. Access road is very narrow & rough with steep slope down to car park.

Absolutely beautiful guest house. Comfortable large room. Food delicious. Very clean and comfortable. Gorgeous setting. Staff were friendly and very helpful and professional. Highly recommended.

Booked this place as we we're doing lunch on the steam train. And it was perfect just up a small hill from the grosmont heritage train station.

Really enjoyable stay. Breakfast very good, lovely ambience to breakfast area, calming background music. Huge room, beautifully appointed. Perfect hosts, nothing too much trouble. Will recommend to friends.

Little bit of heaven in North Yorkshire

Selma Chris & Nikki were amazing hosts lovely company great room fantastic breakfast and they were all very knowledgeable about the area which helped to make our 5 nights stay very special. We would happily go back & hope to do so. We would recommend staying here too anybody. David & Sandra

Lovely stay for the weekend to visit Whitby steampunk weekend. Originally booked for my wife and her friend but I got to go with my wife. The room was quite small, especially the bathroom but was warm and cosy with excellent beds and shower. A 2 minute walk to the train station and lovely view of steam locomotive setting off to make our day.
