  • Book a getaway to the wild North York Moors and stay in this traditional countryside cottage. Beneath its stone walls and red-tiled roof, it houses two comfortable bedrooms which sleep three guests, plus a cosy interior warmed by a wood burner. Best of all, it’s centrally located within Yorkshire, so it’s in a perfect position to be able to explore the county’s woodland, moorland and dramatic coastline with ease.

    After a wonderful day of adventure, retreat inside this welcoming accommodation and put your feet up in the open-plan lounge/dining room. Sink into the sofa and switch on the TV to enjoy your favourite programmes in the glow of the wood burner. A wooden dining table offers space to dine or play board games and when you’re feeling peckish, the well-equipped kitchen has everything you could need to rustle up something delicious. Up on the first floor, you’ll find the two bedrooms, a king-size and a single, plus a family shower room. And when the sun is shining, make your way outside to the garden where you take a seat at the table and enjoy a cuppa while admiring the surroundings.

    If you fancy a day at the beach, the golden sands of Runswick Bay are 4 miles north, while the iconic seaside town of Whitby is 6 miles east where you can explore Whitby Abbey, swim in the sea and dine on the freshest seafood. Alternatively, the quiet countryside village of Mickleby is 2 miles west and if you’d like to see some local history, the atmospheric ruins of Mulgrave Castle are just over a mile south. There is also a wealth of walking and cycling trails surrounding the property.

Cosy cottage in beautiful location

We had a wonderful week in Westlands Cottage. It was warm and spotlessly clean, situated in peaceful countryside yet close to beautiful coastal towns and walks. Highly recommend the cottage and the area.

Idyllic Country Cottage

Beautiful and peaceful location but not far from Whitby, lots of wildlife around the cottage grounds. Cottage was very comfortable everything you could possibly need and spotless, couldn't fault anything. Would definitely return if visiting the area again.

brilliant location and lovely well appointed cottage

Cottage is in pleasant countryside, well located for quickly getting on the road to northern places like Runswick Bay and very close to the excellent Park and Ride for getting into Whitby. The cottage itself is very pretty and well appointed. Comfortable and attractive. Had a great time with our grandson who loved the cottage. Very private and quiet.

Brilliant location and accommodation

We were very impressed by the quality, facilities and location which served us very well for this week-long stay over New Year 2019-20. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottage in ländlicher Umgebung.

Nur wenige Autominuten von Whitby, den Cliffs der Meeresküste und dem North York Moors National Park entfernt liegt das Westlands Cottage in schöner grüner ländlicher Umgebung. Rund um das Haus tummeln sich Kühe, Pferde, Esel, Hühner, Fasane und sogar ein Pfau. Das Cottage ist stilvoll eingerichtet und gepflegt, es fehlt an nichts. Die Küche ist der Hit, viel Platz zum Arbeiten und Verstauen von Einkäufen. Elektroheizung und Holzofen im Haus. Der Garten liebevoll gepflegt und rund herum die schönen englischen Steinmauern. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, nur das Wetter hätte Anfang Juni besser sein können. 12 Grad und fast die ganze Zeit Nebel.

Night time loud music

Unfortunately Xmas music was played from the adjoining property (host) which kept me awake until after 3 in the morning. I did inform them but received no form of apology. External lighting was poor making access quite difficult.
