Surrounded by large majestic oak trees, this mid-century authentic Texas home has been beautifully renovated for a peaceful getaway because you deserve to experience a place where life moves at whatever pace you choose. Relax in the countryside with easy access to all the events and attractions in Waco, or visit the historic Czech town of West. You will have the entire house and a peaceful yard all to yourself. This historic farm has been owned by our family for more than 100 years, and we're glad you found us. Once you stay here, you will understand why guests keep coming back. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching baby calves run and jump in the surrounding fields. Or enjoy a glass of wine with a beautiful Texas sunset, followed by some of the best star gazing in the state!

And although The Brickyard House is a great place to unplug and unwind, you can also enjoy our free Wi-Fi network to stream your favorite shows on a 55" HD TV or to login and get some work done. When you're ready to venture out, you can grab kolaches in the historic and quaint Czech town of West (less than 5 minutes away) or experience the recently revitalized downtown district of Waco (only about 15 minutes away). After an event at Baylor or after exploring the Magnolia Silos, escape the crowds and return to your own personal country retreat. However you choose to spend your time, the memories you make here will last a lifetime.

The farm house was an excellent respite from the business of Waco yet just a short 12 minute ride to Baylor. The beds slept wonderfully!! It was so peaceful we enjoyed early mornings watching the cows and the sun come up as well as quiet evenings.We will return.

A Peaceful Farmhouse Stay

This farmhouse was a perfect peaceful country retreat! A tractor was displayed at the edge of the well-cared-for yard surrounded by beautiful oak trees. During morning coffee, baby calves, cardinals and bluebirds would appear. The farmhouse and property were very clean and it is evident that this was a once wonderful family home where great memories were made. Clyde anticipated my questions in advance by providing detailed instructions and he kept the lines of communication open in case I needed anything, but it was a perfect stay!

Perfect location for a Waco vacation!

We were in town for a Big 10 track meet at Baylor. The Farm was the perfect place to stay! It was an easy 15 min drive to the university, as well as any amenities we wanted or needed. However, when we were “home” we felt like we were miles from the big city. It was peaceful and beautiful. The house had everything we needed, was very clean, and comfortable. We spent quite a bit of time outside where we enjoyed the fire pit, cattle and large beautiful trees. We are planning to stay here again next time we are in the area and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Oh so peaceful!

The Brickyard House is easily one of our favorite VRBO rentals! When my husband and I decided to visit the West and Waco areas for a nice relaxing weekend to celebrate his birthday, we looked for a cozy cottage in a secluded area. The Brickyard House met all of our needs. It's literally surrounded by peaceful pastures and is located along a very quiet country road. The home was perfectly spotless, well-maintained and supplied with everything we needed and more. But being secluded didn't mean out of touch! Restaurants in West were less than a 10 minute drive. We enjoyed the Tipsy Lion. Everything in Waco was only about a half-hour away. We highly recommend George's Restaurant there! At night there were so many stars! And the king-sized bed was very comfortable. We both slept like babes. Even though we never needed anything, our host Clyde kept in touch and shared information about his lovely home and things to look for in the area. We will definitely look to stay there again in the future.

Hotels no more

This will be the first place I look for availability anytime I stay in Waco. If it isn't available, I would seriously consider rescheduling my trip to when I can stay here. It was very easy to get to. Close enough to the freeway for ease of access, but far enough away that I couldn't hear the traffic when trying to sleep. The house was clean, comfortable, welcoming, cute, and I truly felt safe during my stay. The host, Clyde, was very attentive, easy to reach and I truly felt like he was available to help me with absolutely anything I would have needed. I would like to suggest getting 1 or 2 chairs to sit on outside. While the weather was cold (for Waco) during my stay, being from the north I enjoyed it and would have liked another place to sit than the picnic table. If there were chairs and I missed them, my apologies. All around, a great place to stay. I am going to suggest it to everyone I know looking for a place to bed down for a night or longer when in the Waco area. Thank you for offering this piece of your family to me. I enjoyed every minute spent on the property.

Best VRBO ever

This was by far one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The discrimination of this property is spot on in fact I believe it’s so much more. The communication was wonderful with the owner. From the moment you arrive it is clear to see this is a very cared and loved property. This isn’t a modge podge thrown together place. Nice appliances, furniture, linens, and dishes. Lastly COWS they are simply amazing and lovable I couldn’t wait to get up and see them in the morning and we came from Wisconsin where we can see cows all over something just hit differently here. Birds galore as well. The location was super quiet as well. I can not wait to come here again. I enjoyed it so much I wish I could have left them a thank you gift because our vacation was so perfect because of this place.

Repeat Guest - our stay was amazing again!

This is my 4th time to stay at the Brickyard House! It is wonderful - perfectly clean farmhouse in the country but so close to Waco. It is so serene to look out back and see the cows in the pasture. I can’t say enough about this property. It is beautiful inside and out, including the cows that come to visit in the mornings. Our “super host”,which is an understatement, was wonderful. Great location if you are looking for distance from Waco, but close enough to drive (or uber) in for the day (20 mins out). Clyde was fantastic at communicating and the house is spotless clean with cold water in the fridge waiting for your arrival. Beautiful and thoughtful updates! Highly recommend!

A Perfect Stay

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, everything was just as described in the listing, if not better. Cozy Country

We had such a wonderful stay at the Brickyard house! Clyde is the perfect host and very responsive to communications. Ty so very much for sharing your family home with others! We haven’t been “staying” here, we have been “living” here the last couple of days. It takes me “home” to the farm life in my soul and you are a wonderful attentive host. You and your family did an amazing job on the remodel. And I love that you kept it personal with some of your family belongings and with the photograph of your dad, the painting from your mother and I’m sure she played this piano beautifully. Graduation Weekend

My family and I enjoyed our stay this past weekend. We were in the area for our daughter's graduation from Baylor. The house was immaculate, the kitchen was nicely outfitted with everything you might need. It is definitely one of the nicest properties we have stayed at. It was a very relaxing setting. We made breakfast each morning and also grilled one evening making use of the gas grill. We fed the cows while dinner was cooking. We did also see a roadrunner. The host's communication was excellent and he was very responsive to our questions and requests. If we are ever in the Waco area again, we will definitely stay at this location.

Peaceful and Quiet Nest

This property provided my husband and I a quiet, laid back interlude during our travels through the southwest. It was warm and welcoming and provided the perfect escape from all the hustle and bustle of the cities we had visited. It had all the amenities we needed with just a short drive to restaurants, grocery stores, etc. The single dwelling home is an updated and fully renovated farmhouse on a quiet paved road within 15 minutes of Waco. Though we never met the owner, Clyde, in person, he promptly responded to our texts and was very accommodating. We would highly recommend this property.

Best VRBO stay ever!

Clyde puts hospitality first and we felt so welcomed. His family home has been wonderfully renovated for guests and we had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. Quality through and through in the kitchen, living room, bedrooms. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful and the cows in the field are a key component of that peaceful presence one feels. For anyone who loves a cozy, quiet get-away, this is THE place to be!

Beautiful home in a perfect setting

The house was exactly as advertised. As soon as you pull in you can tell that it was a family homestead and is well cared for. The giant trees made the lawn a great place to hang out and play. Clyde is a great communicator and a gracious host.

All that you need!

This is the perfect spot to get away from city for a short, quick stay. We rented this house for a night while we attended a Baylor game. The house is inviting, charming and very down on the farm feeling. It’s quiet but still quick access to the highway for easy travel. Clyde is incredibly prompt with communication and even offers food to feed the farm animals. We would definitely rebook here!
