THE SKINNY: This historic beachy bungalow is the downstairs 1 bedroom apt of a duplex situated just a hair off the beach, and very close to tall of prime Vilano Beach's offerings! The funky fun decor and colors of this apt make for a unique vacation experience! The covered back balcony with seating and grill provides the perfect shady break from the afternoon heat. Just a few minutes drive from downtown, this is a perfect location for enjoying the best of both worlds St. Augustine has to offer - the beach and the historic town! Enjoy your coffee on the balcony in the shade, load up and head down to the beach, have a drink at Beaches Restaurant on the intracoastal waterway or snuggle up in the comfy King size bed and enjoy a day of relaxation inside!

THE PROXIMITY: Central to downtown, uptown, Ponte Vedra and US Highway 1 which takes you to all parts of St. Augustine quickly for shopping, eating and seeing other areas of the city! The walkability of this home to shops, groceries, restaurants and the beach is excellent!

THE SPACE: The home itself sleeps 3 comfortably in 1 King bed and 1 futon that opens to a full size bed. The kitchen is equipped to service 4+ people to prep and cook to eat together for a great night in! The TV's are all Smart TV 's, so simply login to your Netflix, Hulu or HBO account to enjoy your favorite movies and shows.

THE LAYOUT - Unit A downstairs has a solid 1/1 layout:
BEDROOM: The bedroom has a King bed. In the same room, a futon converts to a bed for the flexibility to bring along a 3rd person.
BATHROOM: Off the main living area and features a walk in shower.

AMENITIES: Pergola patio with seating and lights (shared with Unit B). Private screened patio with seating and grill. We provide starter coffee supplies.

LAUNDRY FACILITIES: On the exterior of the house at the base of the stairs that go up to Unit B's front door is a red shed door with a stackable washer and dryer inside.

OPEN LIVING: The kitchen is situated adjacent to the dining area so everyone can be together during dining and cooking! We outfit the kitchen with one roll of paper towels, a few starter trash bags and lots of dish soap for your first couple of days, plus coffee amenities!

PARKING: There is one parking space per unit on the property. Please use only one space and leave the other space open for the other unit's guests. Our parking area is fenced in on 3 sides and only big enough to allow 2 cars side by side. You will see stained glass and mosaic artwork of sea turtles and jellyfish hung up on the fence in our parking area. If you do not see those, you are in the wrong area. NO parking within the neighborhood/complex of homes to the north of our property. You will be towed. There is no other parking provided. Other cars must be parked at the Publix.

HISTORIC DOWNTOWN ST. AUGUSTINE: Just a 5 minute drive west to San Marco Ave and south is historic downtown St. Augustine! Take a tour, enjoy the rich Spanish history, the architecture, the food and craft cocktails and all that our pleasant waterfront town has to offer. BEACHSIDE FUN IN THE SUN: Our beaches are unparalleled! We really know how to enjoy what nature has blessed us with here in our quaint little St. Augustine Beach. This home is situated in prime Vilano Beach. You can also drive to one of the public beach accesses on St. Augustine Beach about 25 minutes away to park and walk on.

TURN IT UP: Want to live on the edge? There are a couple of rental shops nearby where you can rent surfboards, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, you name it! Deep sea fishing charters and boat rentals are also available in multiple places throughout town. Delivery bike rentals available via a local company. Contact me for recommendations.

*SECURITY DEPOSIT: In lieu of a traditional security deposit charge or authorization hold for a large sum, we will instead charge a one-time non-refundable incidentals fee to your stay of $49 This fee acts as insurance for minor damages and covers you up to a max of $500 of damage. You may elect to increase your incidentals fee for more coverage ($99 for $1000, $149 for $1500, $199 for $2000 and so on and so forth). *IMPORTANT: Guests must report to us any damage that has taken place during their stay before checkout, otherwise the incidental fee coverage is null and void. In this case, we reserve the right to charge the full amount of repairing or replacing the damaged items to you. Your insurance coverage amount ($500, $1000, $1500, etc) is not the max that you are responsible for. If damages exist beyond your coverage amount we will document this with photos and professional estimates of repair, and bill you for the repairs or replacements.

Guest Access:
The pictures show some dining and lounge furniture that is not in the unit at this time. We have other newer furniture in place and plan to update photos soon to show the newer furniture in the listing.

Entire space of the Downstairs Apartment/Unit A ONLY is included in this rental. Please, make yourself at home.

This home is situated on a busy main street. You will hear noise from the road during your stay.

There is no dishwasher.

There is no formal living room.

Laundry area and outdoor pergola seating is shared with Unit B.

The second floor of the home is not included with the rental of this home and is reserved for other vacation guests. Please know you may see other guests on site during your stay.

Guests in B upstairs may have their own dogs. Please keep your dogs leashed at all times. We are not responsible for any issues that arise between guest pets.

Limited parking. Please be sure to abide by parking rules notated in the above section.

The neighbors are all permanent residents who enjoy their quiet privacy. Please be extra considerate of them and keep all noise to a minimum starting at 10pm-8am, per county ordinance.

Dog friendly ONLY, other pets will not be considered due to allergies. 2 dogs max! **WITH FEE** If you are bringing a dog, please reach out to us directly about our policy and fees!

**Airbnb Guests: Even if you add a pet to your reservation, Airbnb does not automatically include pet fees. Due to an integration gap with our software we have to add pet fees to your confirmed reservation manually. Please reach out if you plan to bring your dog!**

The Neighborhood:
One of the prime areas of Vilano Beach, you will find the area is bordered to the East by the Atlantic Ocean and to the West by the Tolomato River (or what we St. Augustinians call "The Intercoastal"). Located just a two minute drive from the home is a Publix grocery store with everything you could need! In that shopping center you can rent or buy equipment for any water sports activity. Just a four minute drive over the Vilano Bridge is Camanchee Cove, where you can rent a boat for the day or charter deep sea fishing tours, or enjoy dinner at the famous Kingfish Grill.

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car for your stay. If you prefer to travel by bicycle or would just like to rent them for fun, check out Drifters for drop off/pick up bike rentals.

Please be aware that certain vendors, such as lawn care, pool and other routine maintenance providers, may visit the property on a weekly basis. Their visits are scheduled based on weather conditions and other factors, so they do not have a fixed schedule.

Please remember that you're staying in a house, not a hotel. Please treat the space with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.

Guests must be 21 or older to book.

NOISE LEVELS: There are guests in the other 2 units in the building. We ask you to be considerate of the tenants in the other units by keeping noise levels down and observing quiet time per St. Johns County ordinance from the hours of 10pm until 8am.

Dog friendly, no limit on weight.

Our dog rent fee is $30.00/Dog/Night, $175.00/Dog/Week, with a maximum of $300.00/Dog/Month.
-This fee is added on to your total after booking confirmation.
-The fee doesn't cover damage caused by your pet. We will provide photos and a handyman quote to fairly assess repair charges.
-Pets must be fully housebroken, freshly bathed prior to arrival and treated with flea and tick meds within 30 days of check in.
-Please share with us any details regarding weight, age, if crated when left alone, if allowed on furniture. If you are bringing a dog, please reach out to us directly about our policy and fees!

LOST AND FOUND ITEMS: We charge a $50 minimum to ship forgotten items, which must be paid in advance. For heavier items, we ask that you pre-pay the $50 and we will acquire any additional shipping cost and bill this to you accordingly + 25% service fee.

Comfortable Bungalow like stay

The bungalow is in a great location-close to Publix, Cap's Restaurant, and the beach. It's decorated with a cozy simple style. We appreciated the peaceful setting and convenient access to local spots. A few things to note for future guests: the gas stove and oven do not ignite and most likely require manual ignition, which I did not attempt, so we were unable to cook as planned. The tap water has a strong sulfur odor, so I'd recommend purchasing bottled water to drink. The shower water also had a noticeable odor and laundry also leaves a lingering smell. Guests are expected to regularly empty the bedroom dehumidifier. That said, we enjoyed the area and overall charm of the space.

Don’t do it.

The place looked really cute online and it was great being walking distance from the beach. But there was ants everywhere inside. Don’t you dare leave a crum in the sink or anywhere for that matter because the house will be swarmed with ants. I have a dog and I put food in his bowl. By the time we were back that afternoon I had to pull my dog back from eating it because I realized he was eating a bowl of ants. I felt so bad for my doggie.the house was also not the cleanest and the shower soaks the whole bathroom everytime you use it. There was just so many things that we put up with that you should not have to! Getting into the gate every single day was a mess. It’s easy one second then complete hard to open the next. Absolutely terrible gate lock and annoying to try to get into. Lastly the washer and dryer are from the 1800s and can fit maybe one two towels which I’m not even sure it even washes. But highly would not recommend this place especially is you are looking for relaxing and comfortable. There is also an upstairs unit that you can hear stomping around every second they are there regardless of the time of day and their patio is right above yours so when they are moving around the dirt just falls straight over your head.

Adorable bungalow, short walk to beach!

This place was perfect for my partner and I to get away from home for the weekend. Short walk to the beach, close to everything, peaceful neighborhood. Will totally return!

Perfect spot

My daughter and I spent a week together here. It was perfect for us. The place is clean and everything you should need was provided (household items.) The space is bigger than I expected, and we really enjoyed the color and quirkiness. My favorite spot was the yard…the beach is nice too of course, but the yard was fun. Parking was no problem at all. It was perfect for us.

Complete dump

First off they don’t tell you you have to park in a Publix parking lot and carry your luggage across a major street then once you’re in its 2 rooms one with a bed other with stove in middle of room all cabinets look like they were picked up from dumpster and reinstalled and the bathroom well a porta John with a garden hose would be nicer and cleaner the outside was the nicest part so if you do stay take a tent !!!

Nice vacation spot

The apartment was not as nicely furnished as we expected based on the cost, but the location, the pet friendly feature, and the enclosed garden more than compensated. We will definitely stay there on our next visit to this area.
