  • Just a few houses back from the sand and the St. Augustine Beach fishing pier, Laughing Gull Cottage is a single-level beach home built for the kind of trip where the water is a short walk away and the day stays uncomplicated. It is a freestanding cottage, not a unit in a building, so you get your own front door, your own yard, and a quiet spot to come back to between beach runs.

    The floor plan is easy to live in. Two bedrooms sleep up to four: one holds a queen bed, the other a double. There is one full bathroom, plus a living room, a dining area, and a full kitchen, all spread across a single 700 square foot level with no stairs to manage. The kitchen is stocked for real cooking, with a full-size refrigerator, stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and the cookware, dishes, and utensils you need to put a meal together after a long afternoon outside.

    Outdoors is part of the appeal. A covered patio gives you shade for morning coffee, the backyard is fully fenced, and a one-car garage means your boards, chairs, and sandy gear have somewhere to live between trips to the beach. Inside you will also find an in-home washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, cable and satellite TV, central air and heat, and linens and towels provided. The cottage is pet-friendly, and the fenced yard makes it an easy choice for travelers bringing a dog. Pets are welcome for an additional pet fee.

    The setting is the draw. St. Augustine Beach Pier Park is close by, with volleyball, a splash park, the Wednesday farmers market, and the summer Music by the Sea concerts, and restaurants and shops sit within an easy walk. When you want a change of pace, historic downtown St. Augustine is a short drive for ghost tours, the old fort, and dinner along the bay.

We had a great stay! Warm weather and lots of sun! Two suggestions- the primary bedroom needs a new bed and call an exterminator regarding the ants. Otherwise great stay!

This cottage provided us with a great location for our stay. A very short walk brought us to beach access and also to great restaurants. The cottage is nice and we would stay again.

We were able to find everything we needed within walking distance. Beach access supper close and the house was clean with all of the supplies you needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Cute Beach Cottage!

Clean little cottage in the perfect location. Very short walk to the beach, restaurants, etc, and a quick drive over to St Augustine. Fenced yard was perfect for our pups and the neighbors were lovely. We would definitely rent again.

Great Location

Cute little cottage close to the beach & many great restaurants. Short drive in to St Augustine. My only suggestion is they could use some new outdoor furniture for the porch and lovely back patio.

Pleasant surprise in St. Augustine Beach

The home was in a great location with easy access to the beach, state park, and restaurants. It is a nice quiet neighborhood. The space was clean and had a lot of great amenities like a washer and dryer. We will definitely be back!

Can't beat the location. Very nice little house with privacy in the back yard. We had a minor issue and the response from the rental people was excellent.

Great Location

We really enjoyed our time at the beach cottage. It was conveniently located to many restaurants which were easy to walk to in the evening. As well as the beach and other shops. If you want to be able to park your car and get around definitely a great place to start.

Great visit tSt Augustine

Returning to visit friends a year after relocating north, Laughing Gull cottage was the perfect home away from home. The living room was roomy enough to host 2-3 visitors. The primary bedroom was very comfortable. The location near the beach and restaurants turned out to be extremely convenient. We are grateful to have discovered this cute cottage.

Great Location!

This little cottage was clean and comfortable. This home could use some new living room furniture. Great location to dinning and the ocean. I had a couple of correspondences with the owner and Marty was quick to respond and answered all of my questions. Would definitely stay here again!

This is how my check in went. The description says it had a garage you can park in nope not unless you clean it out. One reason why I booked it. Lady was there doing yard work and was parked in the driveway!! She moved but instead of leaving she continued her yard work never experienced that before! Ants in the window sill that were dead. Great location just needs a really deep cleaning!!
