  • You've found the perfect house for enjoying the beach, ocean views, and close access to the redwood forests. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms PLUS two private hot outdoor showers make this the best place in Santa Cruz to stay for larger families, groups and people who just want plenty of space near the ocean.

    This large sunny house is a premier location for a Santa Cruz getaway. Located on a quiet residential street in an exclusive neighborhood, it is just five hundred feet to Sunny Cove beach, known by locals for boogie boarding and skimboarding. The Monterey Peninsula and its twinkling lights are visible across the bay from the family room and spacious deck. The house is within walking distance to Starbucks, a local brewery, restaurants, a fantastic farmer's market and the harbor, and easy biking distance to the Boardwalk or Capitola. Golf, wine tasting, yoga, rock climbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, and sailing are available nearby.

    Not only does our house have location, location, location, there is plenty of room with nearly 5,000 square feet of living space. There are two rooms with queen beds (one with an ocean view), a king bed, extra sleeping space, and a very large room that sleeps 8 children in bunk beds. There is an upstairs family room with a fireplace and ocean view, and another family room downstairs with a fireplace and a huge TV. There is also a game room with a pool table and an additional huge TV.

    We have beach chairs, boogie boards, and a selection of wetsuits for your use during your stay.

    The backyard has a large sport court surface with a basketball court/pickleball court. Balconies from the bedrooms allow for great views of sunsets.

    We are a licensed Santa Cruz rental property and our Transient Occupancy Registration Certificate number is #CO00347.

The property was perfect for our large family! Rooms to gather and relax and the outdoor spaces were all comfortable and very accommodating for everyone, all ages! And the views and convenience to the beach and local restaurants was all within walking distance, even for our littlest!

Lovey as always. This was our 5th stay at this property and we can’t wait to go back. Location is beautiful, view of ocean from the deck. Close to restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Home for Family Reunion

The Sunny Cove beach house is an amazing property close to the ocean and fully equipped with all you will need for a fun getaway. Our host was responsive and helpful. Our family of 13 adults and one child played pickle ball, enjoyed the beach, and cooked/grilled huge meals in the spacious kitchen. We highly recommend this property for family gatherings.

This is our second time of staying at the home for a week for a family birthday celebration. The house is absolutely perfect! The two downstairs TV/pool rooms were great for kids, the wetsuits were utilized almost every day, and the deck we enjoyed from waking in the morning until bedtime. The house has been remodeled between our visits, and it is top notch. We are already talking about renting it again in 5 years.

Perfect family beach house

Our family of 15 loved our stay at this wonderfully unique beach house. The home has an open concept layout with many spacious areas to eat drink and play. We enjoyed playing pool, ping pong, and we spent a lot of time at Sunny Cove Beach just down the street. We hope to go back to this special property.

Perfect location

This property is perfect for multi-generational visitors. Everyone has his own space. The beds and bedding are exceptionally nice. The location is close to morning coffee and afternoon beach time. We hope to come back for a 3rd visit!

Such a great house for a group!

This was our second visit to this property. We love the location and the home. This home holds a group so well. We had a day of very bad weather but had plenty to do inside with pool and games and a great kitchen for cooking. We love working with the Shaws and we love their beach house!

House Made the Vacation

Unique property. So fun and such great options between the beach, game room and pickle ball. Bright, sunny spaces and lots of ways for a group to spread out. Restful neighborhood with plenty of walkable coffee and food.

Absolutely Perfect House!Over the years we have stayed at dozens of VRBO homes, and this house is certainly among the top three. Extremely clean, great beds and linens, kitchen is very well stocked, and there are activities galore for the kids (and adults). The bedroom/bathroom layout offers lots of privacy and there are quiet areas that are perfect for reading (or a nap). The location is great. Short block to the beach but traffic drops off to almost zero after dark so it is quiet. Everything you need is within a ten-minute drive. And to top things off, the manager is super easy to work with and exceptionally nice. Highly recommend this property.

More than a "10"!

The house was even better than the pictures and video portrayed. The great room & kitchen made shared meals and meetings very relaxed. We enjoyed the deck, ocean view, short walk to the beach. Everything was a notch above. Including the billiards room and basketball court. Can't wait to come back for a family vacation.
