"This is a beautiful place in the middle of the Rainforest with an impeccable view of the Arenal Volcano! The rooms are divided among separate dwellings for each group (example: 200s, 300s, etc) They offer rides to different areas of the property, but I took the opportunity to walk to must places within the property for some exercise. "This place was a gem, nice clean rooms with a kitchen. Our room was facing the volcano so that was a surprise. They had a bridge to walk over to get to breakfast, that was so cool for the kids. Breakfast was so good and fresh. I highly recommend. "

"Our La Fortuna stay included four hotels the springs, nayara, mi amor, and tabacon. Tabacon Resort/room is roughly 4 star. Staff is polite from check in to breakfast, 5 star. The thermal springs are 5 star and phenomenal, best/largest on our trip by far. The access to shangri-la area in the springs, when staying at the hotel, makes it worth it. "The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. "Very nice resort. Great views - you're one on one with nature there. The private villas are the way to go. Great staff, too. They also have their own private nature trail to investigate as well. Even though there was construction going on directly behind our villa it didn't impact our 3 night stay at all. I commend them for that. The villa was very clean, the glass shower to the outdoors is very cool. Some bugs were able to make their way in but nothing unreasonable. CR construction...

With only 6 rooms, the experience was far below what was advertised and what the Expedia/Google listings led us to expect. Our room had an extremely loud creaking floor, which made it feel cheap and poorly maintained. It may be acceptable for some travelers, but for the price, it was not worth it and definitely not the upscale stay we were looking for. "
