Upper Silver Lake, Beautiful 5 Bedroom Lake Front Log Cabin Style Home


Northern Oasis is a cabin style home located on beautiful Upper Silver Lake. Upper Silver Lake is an All-Sports Lake. Boating, jet skiing, kayaking and swimming are all very popular on Upper Silver Lake. Northern Oasis is located on a prime area on both the lake and the canal. There is a total of 135 feet of frontage on the lake and the canal. Upper Silver Lake does have a private boat launch available if you want to bring your own boat or water toys with you. You can park them right out in front by the sea wall.

The home has 4 bedrooms plus a Master bedroom (5 Bedrooms total) with a balcony overlooking the lake. There is a large well stocked kitchen and a dining room with a wood burning fireplace. The dining room table will comfortably seat 12. The living room has 2 sofa / sleepers and 2 love seats. The living room opens into an expansive sunroom with extra living and dining space. The sunroom offers a beautiful view of the lake and island. There are screens on all windows and sliders. There is a table with umbrella and chairs as well as lounge chairs on the deck by the canal. There is also a private sandy beach area with a 2-foot sea wall for sand lovers.

There is a Shuffleboard court. The equipment for the Shuffleboard is in the garage.

There is a 2-car garage with 6 parking spaces (2 in the garage and 4 in driveway in front of the garage). There is no parking allowed on the street.

There is a charcoal grill in the garage for your convenience. You will need to provide your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

There is a fire pit located on the sun deck. You will need to provide your own firewood.

You will never run out of things to do in the Silver Lake area. It is just a short drive to the beautiful sand dunes, Lake Michigan, Little Sable Point Lighthouse and the towns of Pentwater and Ludington. There are several wineries in the area that offer tours.

Upper Silver Lake is an All Sports Lake and does have a NO WAKE requirement before 11:00 AM and after 7:00 PM.

Linens are provided however you do need to bring your own Beach Towels.

A refundable security/damage deposit of $500.00 is required.

Check in time is 4:30 PM and check out is 10:00 AM

50% is due with booking and balance is due 60 days prior to stay.

Cancellation policy:

Full refund with more than 60 days notice

50 % refund more than 30 days notice.

No pets allowed. No Smoking on the Premises. From Memorial Day through Labor Day we only rent weekly - Friday to Friday.

Cottage was clean and kitchen was well-stocked. There was plenty of room inside and out for our large group. There were adequate supplies of tables and chairs both inside and out. We enjoyed boating and kayaking on the shallow lake, visited the State Park beach, and climbed the nearby dunes. A very special week for our family!

great location and excellent property manager communication

This is the 2nd summer our family has stayed at this property. Location is close to Silver Lake attractions and the beach area is perfect for children (we had ages 1 -8). The deck area is nice for hanging out and fishing off of. The large eat in kitchen held us all and the common areas were perfect for games, puzzles in the sunroom and relaxing after a day in the sun. We had an AC issue upon arrival and the property manager addressed and corrected that. The 2 main level bedrooms are full size beds, so keep that in mind when planning sleeping arrangements. A great place to spend a vacation!

Perfect Place for a Large Family

Clean, well supplied kitchen, great deck by the water for sitting around the fire, cooking and eating outside. Skiing and tubing from the deck. Great fishing. Everyone from young to old all had a great time.

Great family vacation!

We have rented at other VRBOs over the years. This house was absolutely perfect for our growing family. Everything you could want for making memories with our kids and grandkids! The kitchen is well stocked, 2 fridges was really handy, and the large table was the center of activity. We loved the sun porch both mornings and at night. The kids caught fish off the dock and played in the sand. It was perfect. My only suggestion would be extra air conditioners for the upstairs bedrooms. They were hot and our weather was not overly hot . Overall this is a total 5 stars!

Outstanding Property

Loved the house and the location. Great views and wonderful amenities. The shuffleboard was an unexpected great treat for the kids! And, the 12 seat kitchen table is a one of a kind in our Mears experience. Lovely for everyone to be able to eat together! Close to all the attractions that keep us coming back annually. 5 stars isn’t enough.

Family vacation 2023

Overall it was a pretty good week. The location is very nice. Our first night we had a few problems in the kitchen. The online description said all the appliances in kitchen were new in 2023. That was only true of 3 of the appliances. The refrigerator which was new, made a very loud screeching noise every time you opened the freezer part. The owner did come out the next morning and repair the oven door and put washers on the freezer door to stop the screeching. He was very nice. It is a very nice house. However,the mattresses are way past needing to be replaced. We did know in advance that the mattresses had not been replaced since we stayed a couple years ago, so we had bought new mattress covers, but even that did not help. This place would be a 5 star with new mattresses and air conditioning that worked a bit better to cool down the upstairs. The owners and manager were extremely nice and easy to work with.

Summer Vacay

Northern Oasis was a beautiful, spacious home on Upper Silver Lake on a side channel and overlooking the lake with amazing sunsets! We stayed with our married adult children and each couple had their own queen bedroom. We loved the porch, lots of couches, huge dining room table for meals and games, large well-stocked kitchen, 2 refrigerators, great outdoor deck area for sitting outside, having a fire and playing shuffleboard. We will be back next summer!

Relaxing stay away from home

Overall excellent property. Large enough to accommodate an extended family of 14 or even more. Beautiful back patio with a fire pit, plenty of seating, and shallow swimming in Upper Silver Lake. You can fish off the patio where you'll catch dozens of small sunfish easily, often getting a bite with your hook in the water for less than a minute. Thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and adults!
