"This is an old property, and the rooms reflect the age. Not bad, dirty, or in disrepair, but well used and not updated. The breakfast had decent variety, but the "hot" items were not very good at all, maybe because they were kept in steamer trays with no heat source. But the waffle maker worked great, and the coffee machine serves hot fresh brew 24/7. Front desk staff was mostly absent during key hours (like morning check out). Seems like they live on the property, and spend more time there...

"The property was beautiful overall and the spa amenities were great. Our room was comfortable but lots of cosmetic issues like stains on the carpets and walls which would make me think twice about the amount of money paid per night to stay here. Room service was a plus which extended to places outside of the room like the pool and spa areas. "What a great resort to get away from it all, and relax by the lake. The indoor pool is huge and great for small children. The hot tub is small that serves its purpose. The spa has been updated and the steam room is top-notch. If booking a massage, definitely ask for Amber. The Outlook bar food leaves much to be desired but the 1878 restaurant is excellent. Highly recommend breakfast there."
