NOT AS YOU THINK…NOT AS YOU THINKWW…
1/5 Horrible
The property, albeit located at the end of town, does not reflect the newly renovated description; it is not up to the price you will pay. There are so much more superior properties around the island at a similar rate, even at a better value.
The place is not in top shape, and the renovation was non-existent; it is old and not very comfortable.
To get in your quarter from the street after 6:00 PM is a daunting task. You must unlock the front gate with a key on a padlock (no light), relock the padlock, go up a few steps, open the main door with another key, switch on the light, go to your room, switch on the light inside your room, go back to the main entrance, lock the main door, switch off the hallway light and go to your room, quite a workout to get in your bed!!!
If you want to enjoy the deck? You must go around the house via the hallway. Do not forget anything as it is incredibly annoying to go back and forth.
The first night, the bathroom water was shut off by the owner as it was slightly leaking, so as I wake up at 6:00 AM, I could not take a shower. I had to wait for the owner to put the water back on!! Not what a guest expects; if you do not want the water running lightly for a couple of hours, fix the toilet.
After all this, I decided that I would not stay and inform the owner (Rodney) that I would be leaving. I would expect a prorated refund (5 days out of 7) as I found a more suitable newly renovated with everything working at roughly the same rate. He told me that he did not get paid by VRBO; therefore, I should direct my request to VRBO. Little did I know that he was lying (after checking with VRBO, they told me that the refund was at the owner's discretion).
I tried to reach out to the owner via VRBO message, by phone (made at least 5 calls resulting in busy, hangup, no answer), but as they have your payment, they could not care less about you.
Upsetting is that VRBO does not support their travelers booking in good faith, with no recourse for goods that do not match your expectation as read in the listing.…The property, albeit located at the end of town, does not reflect the newly renovated description; it is not up to the price you will pay.
