"We stayed in the Bootham suite, the room was light and airy and had a lovely small balcony to enjoy the sunshine. The four poster bed was very comfy and there was a small seating area to relax in. Breakfast was very good, everything is a la carte and the staff were very attentive. The hotel is in a great location, very easy walking distance into York but also very quiet and peaceful. The Pantry is a really nice touch but it was a shame that there wasn't a fridge in the room to keep drinks cool....

"Positives - Good location for York; great showers and comfortable bed. Negatives - only breakfast option is continental breakfast served in room, though room facilities to do this minimal. No communal space for a drink etc other than a small unwelcoming area between the front door and the reception hatch, which offered a very small range of self serve drinks. More a place to sleep than a place to stay."

"The room was meant to be soundproof but could hear next door for starters, then we seen it wasn’t a king size bed but two single beds put together which wasn’t very comfortable to say the least. Also two of the rooms I’d say are used for permanent residence. Then passing pedestrians through the night was noisy was irritating to say the least. We couldn’t work the heating system for the room. "

"The staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean and the bed very comfortable. The dressing table has no lamp or light nearby, so it is hard to get ready, appying make up as the bathroom light isn't great either. There is a pub across the road which played loud music until 2am plus lots of noise outside first thing because of the main road. Saying that, we enjoyed our stay . The hotel is in a great location close to the sites if you don't mind the noise....

" I loved everything about Judges and would stay there again in a heartbeat! I stayed in a Character Double room. It was extremely spacious, had comfy bed and pillows, a view of the Minister, and a bath to soak in. The amenities are very well thought out and made me feel cared for (fluffy robe and slippers, washcloths, complimentary sparkling water and chocolates, quality bathroom products, and eye mask and earplugs - didn't need them because it was very quiet at night). "Last minute booking as decided to stay overnight in York. Communication for check in was quick, property was easy to find, close to town and super clean and tidy. Had a relaxing stay and would definitely consider again next time we were in York. Small supermarket and Mrs Greedy’s at end of road was excellent for supplies and a quick cooked breakfast. "
