"Staff were amazing and food was brilliant, real old school pub food and great value. Room was spacious and comfortable. Only slight niggle is that shower was an electric one and whilst hot enough it was not very powerful. Anyway, I'm returning so that hasn't put me off"

"Room was clean and fine but it smelt very strong of bleach which affected my sleep. Also the descriptions on Expedia are misleading as the comfort room does not contact 2 x double beds which caused a problem. Helpful staff resolved the issue."

"Easy check in.. Good price on our stay for one night. Good location from Standsted Airport. Breakfast was good with lots of choices. Our room was very hot for me.. We should of asked for a fan from reception. "

"The staff was amazing. When we got there and our room wasn’t set up as a twin for my adult daughter and I they swiftly offered us both our own rooms using an unbooked room - we don’t even have to ask. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Thanks!"

"Excellent friendly staff very clean hotel though out the only thing that could have been better was the lunch and dinner menu not much choices also I noticed pool quite cold for me and shower and bath water was just warm not hot and I like a hot bath not a warm bath. "

"A classic country pub with new upmarket bedrooms that impressed. The breakfast in the bar was good although my brown toast was dry and burnt. For the money it is good value and the bedrooms are the best aspect. "

"Disappointed there was no full service spa as in the hotels description. This is the reason why we booked this hotel. Hotel staff were nice. Gym was ok although the treadmill base I used had a layer of engrained sticky dust / gunk on it, as well as over the floor corners and window sills. Pool was ok."

"We loved everything about our stay here. The staff was amazing! Easy to talk to, and always available for any questions we had. The rooms were great. Big room with a comfortable bed and good sized bathroom. We would absolutely stay here again!"
