"We enjoyed our room with a view over the nearby river. Recommend having that room. The TV did not work the first day but we were recompensed for that. The room needs side tables. Breakfast was ok. Not outstanding but sufficient. Be good to have fresh coffee not instant and better quality sausages instead of off the shelf super market quality. All in all enjoyed our stay with a nice country location"

"This is an Honest Review of our stay October 2026. Upon arrival we found the main door was locked. There was a hand written note on the door saying the pub/restaurant was shut due to an electrical fault. Fair enough this is beyond the control of the hotel. A member of staff did let us in and told us our room was ready and not affected by the electrical fault. They showed us to our room and that was that. The Room was ok. The room was nothing special, it was clean and tidy with some general wear...

"We felt very welcome from arrival till departure. Good location, cheap parking nearby, decent breakfast to start your day. Keep in mind that the rooms are not air contained and not all windows can be opened. Ask for a fan of necessary."

"This was our third visit to the Fisherman's Cot and the first time for an overnight stay. There is a good selection of food at reasonable prices and very good breakfast. Staff were friendly and polite. We stayed in an annex which was OK but the outside fabric of the building is in need of renovation. Room was fine and clean, although bath panel was heavily water damaged. There is scope to improve decor (pictures on the wall for example) to give a more homely feel"

"For one night as a pass through to home, it was ok. But we will not be back. Pros- child friendly, suite was a good size, friendly owner. The bed was comfy and there is a Roku to be able to get a lot of channels. Breakfast was decent. Although it’s between 8-9 which was a bit early for us after a long day and then having to go looking for dinner and getting the kids settled. Trying to get them up for breakfast was hard. Cons- dog wee’s on the floor and even when told, it’s not even covered....

"Lovely room, however kettle was in the hallway, not an issue for me but had to keep reminding myself to pick up the key. Parking was challenging and in the early week you have to travel to eat, so car is needed"

"For the price can't complain as you also get free parking. The room was clean and tidy with clear instructions as to how to access the room key. The restaurant is dog friendly also and food delicious. Just bear in mind it can be noisy in the room until the restaurant closes but not a massive issue."

"Everything was great. Maybe a usb charging point might have been good in the room. The only annoying thing was the shower gel dispenser in the bath. It didnt work. Luckily i had my own to hand."

Staff were extraordinary with a particular shout out to Mel who went above and beyond to make us welcome and is a beautiful cook as well. I would not hesitate to highly recommend this property. 5 stars is not enough."

"Wonderful, friendly, local on a lovely street. Some great scenery and local walks. Pub next door. Great traditional B&B. James and Jane are very caring and want your stay the best it can be."
