Elkton, Va. Modernized Farmhouse! Great location in the Shenandoah Valley.

  • The farm house and setting are ideal for a secluded getaway or a base to explore the surrounding valley attractions and venues. The Skyline Drive is 5 miles east on RT33 providing access to the Appalachian Trail, picnic areas, and numerous hiking trailheads. Shenandoah River Adventures, LLC 888-309-7222 for tube, kayak. The house is located on an 86 acre working farm. It has 1/2 + mile of Shenandoah River frontage which is a 100 yard walk from the house. You can hear the water from the house on a calm evening. The view from the house and yard are of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Massanutten Mountains to the west. Night time star gazing is excellent!

Great place out in the country! Very quiet and secluded. The host checked in with us the week before and gave us his cell phone number in case we needed anything. It was clean and quiet!

We loved spending the weekend at the farmhouse for our family Massanutten ski trip! Our kids loved the nook above the kitchen, and we loved the decor and views! It was really cool to see the large peak of Massanutten right from the front porch. House was very well stocked with everything we needed for our short stay. We look forward to staying again soon!

We had a great stay at this property. The house was more than stocked with everything we could need. It was bitter cold outside the weekend we stayed, but the house was well heated. Owner communicated well and always had a quick response time with any question we had before our arrival.

Great place just to get away from everything but close enough to get out and do almost anything. It was the quietest place I have ever stayed.

We've stayed here multiple times - always a great time. Pet friendly, close to many attractions, and plenty of space for our dog to run. The kids caught several fish along the river at the back of the property!

It was good to get out of the city and have a place to star gaze and watch the wildlife that is also close to Massanutten Resort. Would definitely stay again.

First visit but won’t be our last!. This beautiful farm house situated in the Shenandoah, is very well maintained. It promotes a relaxing environment without being far from Elkton. Our family of three had plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots and appliances (soap, paper towels, etc) The bedrooms offer plenty of space including dresser drawers. The bathroom is clean and stocked with plenty of towel. A nice touch throughout the house are the hooks for hanging your items. Both the back and the front porch are a nice place to hangout. It was nice having a picnic table, we ate dinner there one evening. A short walk to the river was a bonus! The host was attentive and replied to questions quickly - even a phone call about river access. Access to Skyline Drive is close. We hiked in the Park 2 days (13.7 and 8.5 miles). We are working on plans to return!

We had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse. It was as described and the host was very communicative. He was quick with his responses which made it very easy to prepare for our trip. The house is on a lovely farm that backs up to the river. It was very well stocked so it made packing easy. There were several things in the house that improve a verbo booking (salt, pepper, cooking oil, plenty of towels, and linens, soaps, cleaning supplies, etc.). The location is very close to Massanutten as well as a Shenandoah National Park entry. Our young boys (and dogs) loved running in the yard and walking down to the river. We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend it.

We had the BEST time at the farmhouse. The location is beautiful, the house is clean and well stocked, and the host is so responsive and helpful. Our family absolutely loved our time here! Can’t recommend enough.

This was our second stay here - this time in spring, so enjoyed trees leafing out, Purple Violets, Virginia bluebells and other wildflowers along the river - while it was snowing at home.
