"Absolutely spotless room and much larger than expected with a sofa and coffee table. Comfy bed, the room could do with a little fridge. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The cooked breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. It was cooked fresh rather than buffet style, if I hadn't been in a rush I would have asked for seconds! Unfortunately the hot tub was getting emptied at 1530 when we checked in so we weren't able to use it but we were offered the opportunity to use it past the...

"Bathroom needed updating there was mould and the floor was coming away. The building is old, the whole room shook when people were moving around upstairs."

"Awful. Had homeless on the entry steps. Police in reception dealing with something. Delapidated. And needs money to at least fix cracks in wall and paint it. Needs a good clean the stairs had years of dust on them. Looks like a hotel that the owners have just forgotten about."

"Lovely lady receptionist upgraded us to a superior double which was spacious with a large bed and great view of the church opposite, Ben, the duty manager was very efficient with the breakfasts. He got me extra tea as requested and did a lovely takeaway bag of sausage and bacon sandwich so my husband could eat later. Great staff, stylish rustic hotel. A perfect stay!"

"We used to stay here many years back when visiting relatives in the area. Now it has turned into a Spa Resort, great for those who like and want to be pampered, no problems there, but we did find the restaurants evening menu is now very restricted for choice., plus there was always cold blasts of air, making it very uncomfortable to dine. Back in the day the then Ostler restaurant was far superior"
