"Amazing, the photos do not do it justice, lovely cosy cottage a home from home and fully equipped. Great location, short walk to village incl pubs and chippy, also access to walks (which pass through livestick fields so dogs on leads). Grizedale forest was a short drive away with really good (long & short) walks, better for dogs off leads. "

The food on the main restaurant was excellent but the brasserie was poor (pub food at hotel prices and poorly presented). Overall we would highly recommend the hotel. Unfortunately Expedia cooked up the booking in the wrong name but the hotel staff soon sorted it out."

My only comment was a shaving mirror would have been useful given the distance to the actual mirror. "The hotel is in a perfect location. The decor is spotless. Some amazing chandeliers!!! The staff were so charming and helpful. Breakfast was great. large dining room with self service buffet having everything you desire which was frequently topped up. The bar drinks were expensive though. £25 for 2 glasses of white wine seemed way too much to us. The rooms do differ in size a lot though so I would go for the biggest you can afford if you want a view and space to move around. Beds are really...

"Over priced and the quality doesn’t match the price. Our room was in need of an upgrade, it was noisy from the road traffic and the bathroom door was rotting from damp. There was damp around the shower. The bed was only marginally more comfortable than the pavement. They even tried to charge us for a breakfast we didn’t order. This was supposed to be a luxury treat, complete failure."

"A clean and spacious room with easy access and a super large and comfortable bed. Staff couldn't do more for us, really friendly and welcoming. Loved the open garden space, well maintained and was calm and peaceful. On Sunday morning, the hotel provided a bird of pray session, the guy taking the session was super knowledgeable - such a great added extra. Great sized car park, easily accessible. "Only small gripe was the shower head had a bit of black mould on it and one roller blind came away whilst I was closing it. Luckily my husband was able to clip it back in quickly. Room and bedding both clean, grounds beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was fantastic, quality hot cooked breakfast and very pleasant staff. We would visit again, thank you."
