We had our wedding at the Inn, and it was simply wonderful! The staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, Joel makes amazing breakfasts and meal, and the mansion itself is eerily beautiful and charming. Each room has it's own character and the whole place has a comfortable and classic vibe. We particularly enjoyed the Honeymoon suit and the oversized amazing jet tub! I can't recommend the Lumber Baron Inn enough. If you have a chance, visit this place before it changes hands (its for sale unfortunately) and enjoy the very clear love and dedication the current staff has for this beautiful historic BnB!

A beautiful old building with period decor. Unfortunately, it has seen better days, but minor inconveniences were easy to overlook when surrounded by the beauty of the building. And breakfast was delicious!

Wow—what an amazing place to stay for the final two days of our three-week road trip. We definitely saved the best until last! We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary, and it was perfect. The house itself has a fascinating history, and the décor throughout was finished to an exceptionally high standard. Our room was fantastic, with the biggest mirror I've ever seen, and the jacuzzi bath was such a fun treat. The chef-cooked breakfast was outstanding, with so much choice, and our host was top quality—friendly, welcoming, and made us feel thoroughly spoiled. A wonderful stay and the perfect ending to an unforgettable trip! Just a shame we couldn't stay longer!

Our first experience with a bed & breakfast stay. Great neighborhood location, beautiful and historic home (built in 1800's). Joel was pleasant and helpful, and we had fun wandering around the mansion and exploring, when we weren't off walking around the Highlands.

Everything about this property is incredible. The building (the house) is amazing. The architecture of the house is beautiful. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet. The breakfast that Joel creates is delicious. This is our 2nd time here. Joel is really a terrific person. Our room (The Colorado Room) which we have stayed in twice was perfect. We will stay here as many times as we are in Denver.

While the old house is extraordinary, and the built-ins beautiful, the furniture (bed, dining table, and the knick knacks were average (e.g., a rcok on the bedroom windowsill & Kleenex box on the dresser). I was disappointed with breakfast--I expected a really nice breakfast, common to other expensive B&B's I've stayed in...an egg dish, pastries, fruit, etc. I got just an egg dish. Meh!
