  • Alojamiento tranquilo, pintoresco y elegante alojamiento independiente con cocina en un granero tradicional. Situado en las afueras de la bonita localidad de Benenden, famosa por su escuela histórica para niñas y sus conexiones con el Domesday Book y excelentes pubs rurales. Convenientemente ubicado cerca de los pueblos Wealden de Cranbrook, Tenterten y Tunbridge Wells. Con un sinfín de paseos, jardines, del National Trust y propiedades del Patrimonio Inglés, Sissinghurst, Scotney, Bodiam y Gran Dixter idealmente situado en la puerta. Alternativamente Londres es 55 minutos en tren o pop sobre el Canal a Francia para el día. El granero ha sido recientemente modernizado y tiene una cocina totalmente equipada para que pueda preparar productos cultivados localmente de los muchos galardonado tiendas de productos agrícolas y bodegas en el Weald de Kent.

Lovely cottage in the garden of the owners. Nice place to stay and a good point to make interesting trips in the neigbourhoud.

A very cosy barn conversion with plenty of room and everything one might need. Setting is excellent and the hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent séjour

Nous sommes ravis de notre séjour sur tous les points ! Le logement est très propre, au calme et dans un jardin splendide. La maison est très bien équipée et agencée. L'accueil était agréable et toutes nos questions ont trouvé rapidement une réponse. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Lovely property in a beautiful, peaceful spot in the heart of the Kent countryside

This property was really lovely… beautifully converted. Set in the owners large and very lovely garden. High quality throughout.. the bed and bedding was especially good (very important for me). Sophie was a great host - thank you Sophie 🙏🏻

Excellent Weekend

great property in the Weald of Kent, kept in excellent order, and perfectly set in peaceful Benenden. Sophie I’d a great host who had thought of everything, and really takes care to ensure a great stay. We’d visit again and recommend.

Great cottage in a great location

My husband and I spent a weekend at this property with our puppy. We had a great stay! Sophie was very responsive with messages and had a cake waiting on check-in. The hosts were also helpful with tips on what to do, where to eat - which we very much appreciated. The cottage is in great condition and has all the necessary amenities. It’s a great location to explore the national trust properties close by and close to the beautiful Bedgebury forests. Highly recommended! One thing to mention is that, it isn’t obvious from the listing that the cottage is just off the main house where the hosts live. The cottage has a separate entrance, but the garden is part of the main garden without a fence which is not ideal if you want to let your dog out without a lead as there are hens / chickens free in the garden. It didn’t make much of a difference to us.

clean accomodation and friendly host will go back again without hesitation. Only negative was description didnt make it obvoius how close property is to owners own property but minor issue.

Beautiful short break in East Sussex

We had a lovely break for a couple of days staying at the property. The host, Sophie, and her family made us very welcome and baked us a cake on arrival (which was delicious). The barn was very comfortable with everything we needed, and the gardens very beautiful. The location is great - we visited Rye, Camber and Bodiam Castle, and the local village pub does great food. All and all a memorable stay.

Lovely relaxing stay

Property was exactly as described. Extremely clean and inviting. Lovely patio area outside to use, which we did, as the weather so hot. Owners very nice and helpful. Couldn’t fault anything and would certainly return.

Prettig en compleet ingericht, ruim huis voor 2 personen met uitgebreide mogelijkheid tot buiten zitten. Vriendelijke eigenaars en huisdieren.

A cosy retreat tucked away in the Kent countryside

Freshwater Barn is a delightful cottage hidden away in a large garden. Our hostess Sophie and her menagerie welcomed us into their home with a delicious home made cake! The cottage was well appointed, clean, tidy, and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. Our children especially enjoyed playing with the numerous pets - especially Toffee the dog and Minou the laid back cat! It was our great escape to the country for the bank holiday weekend.

Wundervolles mit Liebe geführtes Cottage.

Ein sehr schönes gemütliches Cottage, mit Liebe zum Detail. Die Vermieterin hat, trotz das wir verspätet waren, auf uns gewartet und mit einem selbstgebackenen Kuchen begrüßt. Für den ersten Morgen waren Kaffeepads und zwei Flaschen Mineralwasser bereit. Alles war top und sehr gepflegt. Und somit sehr empfehlenswert.

Beautiful location in the middle of Kent. Very nice owner

Beautiful and well equipped. Sophie, it was such a relaxing week we spent at Freshwater Barn, thanks for everything. What a lovely cake we were expected by, when arriving at your house. Perfect stay not far away from everything. Only the mattress of the sofabed is not really comfortable. We recommend this place for everyone, who wants to explore Kent.

Little piece of paradise

Loved staying in this adorable renovated barn. The house has every comfort and the private garden is a bonus. Excellent location for exploring Kent & Sussex. Pleasant hosts. Wish I could live here!

Perfect!! Couldn't be better!

We had a lovely holiday in Benenden. The cottage was clean and cosy. Everything was available: washing machine, good shower, towels, bed linen, TV, DVD etc.etc. The welcome by the owners was very friendly and the cottage has a lot of privacy. Summarizing : Couldn't be better !! Thanks.

Much needed mini break

We would thoroughly recommend Freshwater Barn for a relaxing break or stay - cation. It would suit a couple looking for walks in beautiful woods & near rivers. It is a real gem x

A lovely stay in a lovely cottage!

A great cottage for couples, with a beautiful bedroom and ensuite facilities and a spacious lounge/dining area. Lovely to be welcomed with a home-baked cake, thank you! The internet and parking facilities were a little basic but we were always warm and comfortable, and the cottage and garden were in a quiet location, perfect for visiting the many NT and EH attractions nearby.

wunderschönes Cottage mit hervorragender Ausstattung

Wir haben im September 2018 eine tolle Woche in Sophies Cottage verbracht. Man fühlt sich sofort wie zu Hause und kann den wunderschönen Garten der Familie Verschuur bewundern. Benenden ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen in Kent und den umliegenden Grafschaften. In nur wenigen km Entfernung liegen einige der schönsten Gärten und Castles Südenglands (z. B. Sissinghurts und Hever Castle). Die Famile Verschuur ist ausgesprochen nett und zur Begrüßung gab es bei der Anreise einen leckeren, selbst gebackenen Kuchen. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen!
