"After the hustle and bustle of the city, Chapel of Barras was just what the Dr. ordered. I’m traveling for pleasure, but also to finish a book I’ve been putting off, and this was a perfect stop. It was peaceful, quiet, perfect for my early morning yoga—followed by a delightful and filling homemade breakfast—a couple hours walking, then plenty of uninterrupted time to put pen to paper. Michelle and David were especially lovely: 10/10 would recommen. "

"What a great host Angela was. We felt welcomed from the time we arrived. Our room was very clean and everything that was promised. The cliff trail was stunning and most needed after a long drive. The only issue I had was a lack of hot water when I showered. However, after breakfast it was fine."

"We were in room 12 which was lovely and warm as always, love the shower in the Bathroom power shower ample hot water, and nice comfy bed, this wasn't our first stay there as, we love the friendly atmosphere and the staff are very helpful, great views especially from the resturant with it's picture windows looking out onto the North Sea. Looking foward to our stay later in the year again, might opt for one of the sea view rooms which are slightly bigger in size. A cooked breakfast is included or...

"We were given an apartment rather than a room. It was very spacious, comfortable and fitted out to a high standard. We were provided with a fantastic selection of food to make breakfast. The staff were lovely and the hotel is very central in Montrose town centre."

Bathroom and shower very clean with nice toiletries and soft towels. We dined in Blair’s restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and meals were delicious. Great choices and plentiful for both. Had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Great value for money too "

"Great parking, internet was not working properly during our visit, and not all the 'on tap beers" were available at the time we were ordering. I wouldn't let this put you off though, as I have visited several times over the years, and it is a classy out of town place to spend a relaxing overnight, or weekend stay. The Atholl in Kings Gate Aberdeen, would be an excellent 'in-town' alternative with excellent food/bar at more affordable prices though."
