"Extremely personable landlord, Craig. Room was prepared ready for us to check in early (off to a wedding after a long drive) and sandwiches provided on request which was very much appreciated. The room and bathroom were spacious and nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. Little communal kitchen area provided everything needed for a late night snack and breakfast which was a nice touch. Heard from local friends at the wedding that the food is great too. "After meeting our friends and spending an evening in Cambridge we returned to the crown and punchbowl for a night cap before bed and and found the bar was shut up and all staff had gone home. The pub does not provide a breakfast but their evening meals are good, and the staff are friendly.
The rooms are at the back of the pub and have ensuite bathrooms, tea, coffee and water bottles in the mini fridge. The linen and towels were all fresh and the bed very comfortable. "
