The Old Ghost Road traverses mountains, deep river gorges, dense forest and rough backcountry. It is remote, exposed, with alpine sections above the treeline. On a clear day, there are incredible views in every direction. The steep, jagged rocks and golden tussocky peaks are spectacular. #southisland #newzealand #oldghostroad #mountainbike #bikepacking #biketrail #forest #bush

Between Greymouth and Hokitika you can stop at the pancake rocks and blowholes. Really cool rock formation, now thought to be carved out by the wind

The west coast of New Zealand's South Island has been voted one of the top 10 coastal drives in the world by Lonely Planet. Was stunning! Along the way you stop at the pancake rocks and blowholes. Really cool rock formation, now thought to be carved out by the wind. There is a petrel colony near here depending on the season
