"Very nice little room with everything we needed for one night's stay. The Manager was really helpful, including giving us a lift to the wedding evening do which was really appreciated. We were also offered a free breakfast which was a great touch. Its a lovely country pub with rooms. Woukd definitely return."

"I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. "Ample parking, lovely looking hotel. Our room was a bit on the small side,the area to access the sink was incredibly tight. My husband had to be at an angle making shaving impossible. Thankfully it was fine for one night but anymore could have been problematic."

"Great little hotel above an English Pub. Was relatively quiet after the pub closed. Great central location, friendly staff, wonderful food. No air conditioning but they did provide a couple of fans and we kept the window open so that cooled the room well enough. The beds were a bit on the firm side but overall was a great room. "
