Nestled on the scenic shores of Lake Michigan, this charming 1970s Chalet-style home offers a peaceful retreat with stunning views—perfect for a relaxing escape. Whether you’re hosting family and friends or sneaking away for a quiet getaway, the Cottage on the Bluff is magical year-round. Lounge on the wrap-around porch, unwind by the fire table, and soak in breathtaking sunsets over the lake. Exciting update: the property now features newly installed stairs providing easy access to the beach, making your lakeside experience even more enjoyable. With its blend of comfort and natural beauty, this home is the perfect spot for your next adventure!

Custom-built with cedar finishes inside and out, the Cottage features cathedral ceilings, cherry kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, and hardwood floors throughout, making it both cozy and inviting. The spacious, open layout is perfect for family gatherings, holiday meals, or quiet relaxation.

The cottage is just a 10-minute drive from both the north and south beaches and downtown, where you’ll find unique boutiques, charming restaurants, and a classic town theater. In winter, experience the quiet beauty of the area, or visit nearby attractions for a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.

Sleeping Arrangements:

The cottage sleeps 6 guests comfortably:

• Master Loft Suite: A king-size bed, private bathroom with a stand- up shower, and a cozy sitting area with a futon. The loft overlooks the living area and offers a serene view of the lake.
• 2nd Bedroom: A queen-size bed on the main floor.
• Living Room: Features a sleeper sofa for extra guests.

Enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine on the expansive porch while taking in breathtaking lake views and unbeatable sunsets. In the colder months, unwind in the hot tub or gather around the fire table for a cozy evening.

The Cottage on the Bluff is the perfect escape for a winter retreat or holiday celebration. Whether you’re cozying up by the fire, enjoying the peaceful winter landscape, or hosting a holiday gathering, this home offers a warm, inviting atmosphere to create lasting memories with your loved ones.

Note:
Due to the home’s remote location, phone service is limited, and Wi-Fi can be unreliable—making it the ideal spot for a true escape from the everyday. However, with a short walk down the driveway, you can find a phone signal if needed.

This place was great! Just 6 min drive fromThe meijer in town it’s fairly easy to get to. The drive was covered in leaves and def felt like you were off in the woods alone. But it was nice have a few neighbors nearby. The place was just perfect! The views, the atmosphere, it was perfect. Everything was easy to setup or do. Clear instructions. Our stay it got really windy and the upstairs creaked a bit too much for my liking so very thankful for the downstairs bedroom. Both beds were comfy and honestly we cannot wait to come back. Whether it be in the spring, summer, winter or fall—this host and VRBO were a 10/10!

This property is probably one of the nicest and most well-thought-out places we’ve ever stayed. Every detail was planned and the house was so comfortable. The views and the deck are amazing! I do think in a review people should be prepared for certain things. I think it would’ve helped us. We really did not have access to Wi-Fi for the majority of the weekend despite perfect weather. That’s fine if you’re prepared for it. I would suggest downloading any music or books if you are using a Kindle to have access when you get there. Also, maybe bring some of your favorite DVDs because we did not have access to the television the whole weekend. Don’t plan on watching any football games! Also, signage is down for their drive, which can make finding it a little bit more difficult. That all said, the place is amazing and would stay there again.

Deck and views are amazing, but some quirks kept it from being great. Too much in the house required instructions that weren’t there - the coffee pot was touchy, the smart tv is a Roku but required creating or logging into a Roku account before you could get off the main screen including to watch dvds, it took 2 of us to get the fire table to light beyond a flicker. The grill was entirely unusable since the burners were completely rusted out and there wasn’t enough lighting to get heat. While we knew there weren’t stairs to the beach due to erosion we were shocked that the cottage steps are literally at the fence line and then it drops off completely. The furniture is comfortable and the cottage is clean, the listing is accurate, it just didn’t quite live up to the listing promise.

House was clean and functional. The views were beautiful and the wrap around porch was great. Only negatives were the dishwasher was broken while we were there and for a family that made most of their meals at home, doing all the dishes everyday was annoying and the hot tub was not very clean upon arrival.

Amazing Property!

This was by far the best place I have ever stayed. The views were gorgeous and the place itself was out of a movie. It was a short drive from most things we did during our stay which was very helpful. We were out by ourselves with not many people around so it definitely helped us have a relaxed weekend. We are so thankful for everything that was included. Communication was great and Candice made sure that we had everything we needed. I would have liked to see that we wouldn’t have service or wifi even with having wifi on the listing, but we enjoyed the disconnection and being able to spend time together!

Cozy cottage with Picturesque views

We stayed here July 4th weekend and were very happy to have a secluded home base amongst the bustle . I could chill on that deck forever just looking at the views. This is a very cozy space - but perfect for me and my husband and then my parents in the other room . I would not want to stay there with any individuals that would make any noise ( kids). We loved the convenience to South Haven. Some cons : We had no Internet until the day we left - only issue was inability to communicate/ coordinate with other family in South Haven - had to drive down the street to use our phones. Also there is no beach access, so have to be okay with driving a short distance to the beach

Stunning Views! Peaceful Get-Away!

We took our parents to this beautiful cottage on the bluff of Lake Michigan and it was perfect! Cozy cottage with plenty of room. The porch is large and the views priceless! Don’t get this in the city!!! Close to explore both towns of South Haven and Saugatuck. Our long weekend was wonderful! Highly recommend!
