Good: When we arrived the host left lights on for us in case we arrived at night which we did. The house had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, comfortable clean beds with extra pillows and bath towels everywhere you look. In rooms in bathrooms. Floors were very clean which was nice on the feet. The pool had the best view and the hot tub was clean and hot. The house was clean and had plenty of utensils and garbage bags. The decor was lovely and rustic. We had a foosball table which was fun for the kids. Nice short drive to town. The cooling in the house was great considering the heat was 100 plus degrees when we visited. Cons: The driveway is a little nerve racking because the property is up on a rustic hill which has a rough country type road that is on the edge of a steep hill but we got used to it. If you can, back into the driveway, so you can come and go easier. The map found it quickly. The house is well used and had paint nicks but it is a large house that can accommodate a lot of people so with the traffic it has Its not surprising and it wasn't excessive the house felt clean and well maintained. The light switches are wonky and hard to figure out. Pool light couldn't be found and may be inoperable. Didn't have a chance to ask host about it but we still had fun swimming at night. All around we loved it and plan to come back next year with more of our family. Recommend!

Pool was clean and felt fresh. One end is fairly deep. 8 foot I think.

Pool a little dated but just fine for us.

This property offers breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, and valley views, creating a truly remarkable setting. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub extensively, relaxing in the cooler evenings with stargazing and even witnessing a shooting star. The house maintained a comfortable temperature throughout the hot July months. All appliances and the BBQ were fully functional, making meal preparation easy for our group of nine, with quality utensils, plates, bowls, and cups.Finding accommodations suitable for nine adults, two elderly family members, and two large indoor dogs was challenging, but Sunset House made it possible. It provided five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, and generous prep areas, ensuring we were never crowded. The numerous windows allowed us to enjoy scenic views from almost anywhere inside.My first experience communicating with the FIELDTRIP team was very positive—prompt, friendly, and helpful, earning a five-star rating. We loved the daily hot tub, games, air hockey table, ample pool towels, and user-friendly washer and dryer. Parking for four cars and full house and garage access were appreciated. We hope to return; our stay was truly magical.

Amazing Stay!

Exactly as pictured, the views were stunning and the home was very clean and spacious. Host/Fieldtrip was wonderful to work with. They were on top of all communications and checking in to make sure everything was going well. Couldn't have asked for a better home and host to stay when visiting Joshua Tree. 10/10 would definitely book again!!!

Really nice hilltop property

Our large group, plus two pups, really enjoyed this property. It was spacious and well-equipped. There are a few things that could use a bit of repair and the management was super-responsive, but beyond that it was all good. Note that the location is high on a hilltop with a killer western view. For us in November it meant chilly high-desert winds, but much of the year it would be excellent for the pool and hot tubs.

Getaway

It was a nice location, with a beautiful view. Our host was the best! All of my questions were answered right away, and accommodated all of my requests. Can’t wait to come back for another weekend getaway!

Joshua Tree National Park getaway

This property was fantastic for our family getaway to JTNP. The house was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with lots of cabinet space. The infinity pool was gorgeous and was a great spot to watch the beautiful sunsets over the mountains in the distance! The jacuzzi and fire pit, along with the balcony seating area, made for great places to hang out and relax after exploring the park. While we did not use the indoor fireplaces, they are great features for the winter renters. We loved the place, and will definitely stay there again in the future.

Lovely Joshua Tree Home

We loved the house! Five bedrooms and three bathrooms! The infinity pool has a lovely view facing the sunset. The jacuzzi was hot and the grill worked perfectly! We even used the outdoor fire pit during our visit! Would highly recommend!

The View was Everything!

We loved the location. So close to town, but also complete privacy. The ‘Fieldtrip’ host was great. Pool was cold, but refreshing. The wind gets a lil intense on the mountain. He will appreciate the labeling on the light switches, And even with only 1TV (5 rooms and 1 TV! ) it was the most amazing house - that view was everything, we didn’t need another TV.

Variety of shortcomings, but fantastic location and service

We rented this large property with a small group, opting to pick something outside of Palm Springs and close to Joshua Tree Park. The amazing view and location of the property really define this option - really quite amazing. Upon our arrival however we were dismayed to find that the pool and spa were not operational. Being one of the primary highlights of the property (pool with such an amazing view) this obviously came as a huge disappointment. We also found that the home itself was in need of some TLC and didn't quite live up to the pictures. It would be easy to simply give this property a bad rating based on those facts, but the response from the management company really turned things around. They were almost instantaneous in my email complaints, had repair people onsite the same day, took careful note of all the recommendations I provided and really stepped up in terms of service and ultimate resolution for these shortcomings. I would highly recommend this property BUT please contact the renters in advance to confirm functionality of the pool, spa and status of some of the recommended improvements provided first. It sounds like with a little bit of repair and immediate attention this property will be restored to a 5-star worthy location to stay.

AMAZING STAY

We came here for a getaway weekend with 5 couples. We had an amazing time and spent the majority of it in the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the valley. Elizabeth was easy to communicate with and very accommodating. Everyone in our party was blown away with the views. The bedrooms are also very spread out and private. Even with 10 people in the house the bedrooms were quiet and comfortable. We would definitely recommend this place to other friends and will be staying here again.

Spacious (not luxurious) ranch home above Yucca Valley

This was a spacious home that was easily able to accommodate 2 families. However we were expecting a luxurious retreat due to the very steep daily rate, as well as amenities listed, and photos. Much to our surprise, the house was similar to a "flipped" ranch style house that obviously had been refinished on the cheap using nice decorative pillows and ikea type furniture, unlike the images that the photos conveyed. While the location above the town was beautiful, we thought we were treating ourselves to a stay at a luxurious spa-like home and we were not, by a long shot. Examples: cheap and inadequate pots and cooking utensils, brown carpet throughout, paper thin walls, no working bedroom lighting in the room we stayed in, cheap blinds, etc. We would not return to this property.

Clean, spacious, great location!

The outdoor area is amazing. Overlooking the valley, the pool and hot tub are a must for this area. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bedrooms where comfortable and stylish. It is perfectly located. Nothing was more than 15 minuets away.

Relaxing, quiet setting with beautiful design and comfortable furnishings.

Just wonderful. Peaceful, private, beautiful space which easily accommodated our large group. Loved the views and easy access to hiking. Lovely outdoor lounging spaces and fantastic pool/hot tub. Everything was stylish and very comfortable—from outdoor furniture to beds. Easy check in, responsive host and property manager. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing property

Really beautiful home, amazing location. 5 mins from the NW corner of JT, 15 mins from main (West) entrance to the Park. Secluded, very large, easy for the family to spread out, and the pool set up was the best. Really fantastic views of the mountains and the sunsets. Highly recommend!!
