Log Cabin in Farm Country in Portage County near Berlin Reservoir & Lake Milton

  • Beautiful forty-one acre working farm with the Log Cabin just a few steps away (50 feet) from the pond for fishing with your own equipment. Lake Milton and the Berlin Dam State Parks are nearby. Enjoy fresh eggs from our chickens and enjoy the view of the pond and our sheep in the pasture. This is a great place for an anniversary, or country retreat to get away from it all. Bring your own drinking water or use our Berkey Water filter.
    Occupancy is 4 people. NO CHILDREN UNDER 8 YEARS OLD.

    Beautiful Log Cabin with high ceilings and country style furniture. The two lofts are accessible by sturdy strong ladders. One loft has a full and single mattress and the other loft has a single mattress on the floors. Due to the lofts, children under 8 years are not allowed.

    The kitchen has a two unit glass cook top, microwave , coffee pot, toaster, hot pot, and other necessary items for meal preparation.

    The cabin has a front porch with a table and two chairs to sit and enjoy your coffee along with the view.
    A picnic table and fire pit (wood provided) are in front of the cabin toward the lake. There is an outside grill and forks for making S’Mores. There is a swing for up to two people by the lake for watching those fishing or a private conversation.

    The Log Cabin is private with air conditioning and and heat. A barn visit can be requested where we shelter the animals and if we are around you can help us feed the animals and collect the eggs. We have a Cob Oven on the property that you can see and even use if it works for us, there is an extra charge. The farm is a beautiful place for photography. We, the owners, live across the pond about a 3-5 minute walk. The Cabin is private.

    Other things to note
    A water filter is available or bring your own drinking water.
    For your safety, shoes must be worn outside the cabin.
    The sheets are provided for you in the lofts. You will need to put them on the mattress you use when you arrive.
    This unit has A Sun Mar (NSF/ANSI) composting toilet in bathroom.
    Parking available for 2 cars.

It was a very quaint cabin with a great, active fishing pond. My 11 and 8 year old caught 12 fish between the two of them and had a blast. The owners are very kind and let us come over to their property to see the sheep and chickens. It was a very nice weekend.

Very clean cabin. The pond out front was an added plus; we were able to fish. The grill was almost brand ( we had a few that were so old it made it difficult to cook). The owners were very accommodating and communicated well. We would definitely come back.

Very cute log cabin with picturesque pond and quiet rural setting. Cabin was very clean but the water had a somewhat strong sulfur smell. Also, the internet was not operational during our stay. Our host was working on correcting both of these issues and she did provide a partial refund due to our inconvenience. Make note that any visitors with mobility issues may require assistance with using a composting toilet as it is set up much higher than a standard type flush toilet. Lovely setting, friendly hosts.

Great Location

Just a group of guys there to film a fishing show. Cabin had everything we needed and close to several large lakes. Fishing was good. Would definitely return.

Great rural getaway

So beautiful to be on the farm in the great outdoors. Our hosts were super nice and gave us eggs from the farm and we really enjoyed seeing all the stars at night. The cabin was very comfortable and had plenty of room for the two of us.

Very Peaceful

It was perfect for a secluded weekend get away! House was very clean and comfortably furnished! Absolutely loved the sustainability processes! As an added bonus we got to watch a Goose family and got fresh eggs!

Farmstead stay

Everything about our stay was wonderful! All the cabin necessities were provided (such as firewood & lighter, extra blankets/towels/cooking utensils) & the cabin itself is in spectacular & very clean condition. Can’t recommend enough!!

Wonderful Stay

Very good contact with the property owners. Cabin is cute and has all the creature comforts of home. Pond is great for fishing. Property was peaceful, just what we were looking for. We hope to return someday.

Great Quiet Nature Retreat

This cabin was excellent, it was quiet and clean. Firstly, my wife and I had a great time waking up to the calm of the country side watching the sun rise and set. Secondly, it was always a nice walk around the pond to visit the animals, who even friendly to strangers like us. Lastly, the location is just off the beaten path to relax without the a lot of traffic but close to everything it was easy to reach our sight seeing destinations.
