"Desk folk were pleasant and helpful; our room was very clean! Complimentary breakfast pastries were fabulous! Two repair suggestions: bathtub drain needs tweaking; water went down before I could have a bath. Also, water leaks around sink faucets. Husband and I are glad we stayed- but it would have been respectful to tell us ahead of time that construction noise would be waking us at 8:00 am. Sincerely, Kathleen Donovan"

"Very nice, spacious rooms. However, due to the hotel being at capacity, the elevators stopped working a few times and the ice machines didn’t produce ice."

"This place is a gem– – a beautifully preserved building that dates back to the colonial era which nonetheless provides all modern conveniences. It’s only a stone’s throw from the center of town on a lovely leafy street. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. We’re looking forward to our next visit. If you require an elevator, be warned – – this hotel does not have one. We did not mind bringing our bags up to our third-floor room, but that might be a problem for others."

"Hot water was my biggest issue. Shower started off warm. A couple minutes in it went cold. Called front desk. Said manager would be in in 10 minutes and would address issue. But in the meantime let hot water run. Spouses shower was also cold. I skipped shaving because of water temp. On our way past front desk we were told manager doesn’t work weekends but she’d leave a note with our info for manager to call Monday. During breakfast I asked 2 other families if they had hot water. "The experience can be divided in two parts. Part A-First day, Friday night Terrible room, cigarette odor, bathroom door won’t open, A/C was noisy at night and was hard to sleep. Front desk response was a disaster. No other room, no solution for the door, limited air deodorizer and no solution for the A/C room. Part B, Saturday morning Much better response from the front desk. Got a new room, normal bathroom door, good working A/C. Overall, average experience, not typical Hilton."

We did go the front desk and explain why the front desk lady was very understanding and the manager on the phone agreed it was ok to leave and we would be reimbursed.
