Winchester Tiny House - Quiet with beautiful scenery.


  • Winchester Tiny House in Wolgan Valley is the perfect place to soak up the scenery, walk, cycle, explore the amazing dark night sky, birdwatch or just relax at the fire (subject to fire restrictions).
    It is a self-catered private retreat just 2.5 hours from Sydney. It's half an hour from Lithgow and set within a stunning landscape of rugged cliffs, rolling pastures and has a variety of wildlife.

    Guests will be escorted to the location by your hosts. Check-in is between 2pm and 6pm.

    The Tiny House is completely off-grid and eco-friendly. It is self-catered so bring your food and beverages with you!

    Sightseeing within Wolgan Valley is easy. Bring your walking shoes or bicycles or drive around to the many historical and beautiful places. The Wollemi National Park Glow worm tunnel is right opposite our Tiny House and the walk starts just 5 minutes from our Tiny House.

    There are no city lights, so the dark night sky can be stunning.

    The Tiny House provides you with a fridge, gas stove and oven and is completely solar powered. It has a television with limited coverage and free wifi. There is a diesel heater for those chilly winter nights and a composting toilet and hot shower.

    You will be provided with beautiful linen and towels and a nice warm doona. All of your crockery, cutlery and basic cooking utensils are supplied. There is a fire pit, with wood provided, for your enjoyment.

Darren and the team were incredibly welcoming and guided us through the stay. They provided all the instructions and ensured our stay was comfortable. The view from the stay was incredible and access was easy guided by them. It’s very private and the views of the valley are stunning. The accomodation is fully equipped and well maintained. If you are lucky, you will get glimpse of the farm animals around. Highly recommended to book and enjoy this beautiful stay and take in the stars.

Absolutely beautiful stay, I can’t wait to come back here in the future. The views are stunning, the location is so peaceful, and the walk to the Glow Worm tunnel is fantastic. Being able to sit by the fire and look up the Milky Way was incredible. Thank you to Darren and Olwyn for their communication and for providing this stay. Other than bringing food, the only thing I’d mention is to maybe bring a hairdryer and sugar for tea/coffee if you have it, and your own toiletries. Otherwise the cabin was a fabulous stay that I cannot recommend enough. Almost want to keep it a secret so we can come back again and again!

Beautiful tranquility

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary. Such a beautiful and peaceful stay. Relaxing by the campfire and bush walking. Tiny house has everything you need.

Beautiful Tiny House in a gorgeous valley!This Tiny House is just amazing! Very clean, completely off-grid and equipped with all you need. Very comfortable for two people.The host Olwyn was great and friendly and offered a lot of useful info about the area.The area is amazing with plenty of walks and bike tracks to explore.A perfect place for a getaway to disconnect. Highly recommended!

Our stay at Winchester was most memorable and outstanding. The location is private and absolutely magical with jaw dropping natural views. We got lucky with the weather offering clear night skies for stargazing and also perfect for bushwalking to the glow worm tunnels. Tiny home was clean and well furbished for sustainable off the grid living. The open fire pit was another fun highlight allowing BBQ cooking every meal. Darren was a great and friendly host, giving clear instructions. We had lots to chat about. Thanks again for the stay and hope to visit again

Perfect restful weekend

We spent an amazing, restful weekend in a splendid a decor. Olwyn and Ross were perfect hosts, happy to guide you to all the surrounding adventures if you wish to. It is the perfect tiny home if you want confort away from the city buzz. Highly recommend !

What a stay! Olwyn met us to guide us to the property and welcomed us warmly with great information for our stay. The tiny house was perfect for our stay. Clean, well appointed and with a gorgeous setting in the valley. Loads of firewood for the fire, starry nights and peace and tranquility in the valley hit the spot for us. The Glow worm tunnel walk was amazing! Thanks Olwyn for a great weekend away in the beautiful Wolgan valley.

Our host was fanatic, she gave us a good sense of what was in the area to see. Which was quite a lot. This area is rich with history of the early 1900's shale mining operations. The scenery is truly amazing. It was great for us as Canadian to see some of Australia's wildlife from sitting on the deck having our morning coffee.We wish we would have staying longer in this area.

Amazing Stay

My partner and I had an amazing get away for the Easter long weekend. Olwyn and Ross were excellent hosts and added lovely touches to the tiny home. The view was incredible and the location was peaceful, tucked away from external traffic. There were plenty of hikes in close proximity (the Glow Worm tunnel is definitely worth a visit) and the area was lovely to drive around. We look forward to coming back for a longer visit next time!

Weekend Getaway

Perfect location to escape the hustle and bustle of the busy life that majority of the world lives in these days. The loudest noise you hear is probably your partner snoring next to you and you’re greeted to views of endless Valleys and wildlife. The Glow Worm Caves are walking distance and also something to add on your weekend itinerary!

The best peaceful place

It's a tiny house with an unbelievable view, with no one around. It's the perfect place to escape the city and find peace. You need a 4WD to get there, but thanks to Olwyn and her husband's kind escort, we arrived safely. Not only that, they kindly explained everything to ensure a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this place to everyone. It's an experience we won't forget!

Everything was actually perfect. The hosts went out of their way to ensure my wife and I were comfortable, knew where we were in the valley and what she thought we would enjoy. The accomodation was spotless and very comfortable, and we really loved the fire pit. The view however was the showstopper, the accomodation is positioned right in the middle of wolgan valley and the tiny home has panoramic views of the valley. Quintessential Australiana, there is a reason emirates has a resort there too. Would love to revisit again in summer. One of the best weekend holidays I've ever had.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Winchester. Olwyn is a warm and thoughtful host, and incredibly accommodating of our late arrival.The property is truly something special — surrounded by nature and teeming with wildlife. There’s a peaceful, grounding energy to the place that made it hard to leave.We spent most of our time simply enjoying the view, though Olwyn did tell us about the nearby Glow Worm tunnel, which sounded magical. We didn’t make it out there this time — but it’s just another reason to return.It was one of those experiences where words don’t quite do it justice… you had to be there.

Amazing 10/10 tiny house

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a tiny home nestled in the breathtaking Wolgan Valley, and I can't recommend it enough. The house was absolutely charming, with every detail thoughtfully designed to maximize space and comfort. The views were nothing short of stunning and a perfect sense of tranquility that made it the ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting the owner, Olwyn. She was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating insights into the history of Wolgan Valley and its surroundings, adding a special touch to the experience. The entire experience was peaceful, quiet, and rejuvenating. If you're looking for a serene escape surrounded by nature, this tiny home in Wolgan Valley is a hidden gem. I’ll definitely be coming back!
