Hiking in Winterberg. Discover the beautiful trails around the town, such as the Schluchten- und Brückenpfad (gorge and bridge trail) or the climb up the Kahler Asten.
Our holiday home in the Sauerland is your starting point. You walk to the Rothaarsteig trail in just a few minutes.
After the hike you heat up the electric barrel sauna and fire the hot tub with wood. Your tired legs come to rest. Over a long dinner or in the salt room. Here you have plenty of room for time together.

SLEEPING AND BATHROOMS
The beds are made up when you arrive, and a towel set is ready for each person.
Four bedrooms: two with a double bed, two with two single beds each. A cot is ready with cot bedding. Every room has roller shutters or blinds. In the morning it stays dark for as long as you like.
There is a bathroom on every floor, three in total. One has a whirlpool bath, the others each have a rain shower. Nobody has to wait in the morning.

KITCHEN AND DINING
The kitchen is a separate room. Close the door and the cooking smells stay inside. You'll find everything you need to cook, down to the spices. Crockery and cutlery for eight people. There is also a dishwasher, a bean-to-cup coffee machine and a filter coffee maker, among other things.
The table seats eight. The children's high chair stands right next to it. So you can eat and linger together for a long time.

LIVING ROOM
In the evening the fire is lit. You make yourselves comfortable on the big sofa, with seats for all eight of you.
From the living room you look out over forest and hills. Early risers watch the mist drift by. And now and then a wild animal.
The TV is 65 inches, with Netflix and satellite TV – and music too.

WELLNESS
The barrel sauna and hot tub are in the garden, right by the terrace. The sauna is electrically heated, and through its panoramic window you look out into nature. You heat the hot tub with wood. In winter you walk a few steps through the snow, and the water is 38 degrees. In summer the hot tub stays cold and you climb in to cool off.
A few steps further on is the salt room. The salt wall is lit, and the hanging chairs and other seats don't mind a damp swimsuit. Next door is a second wellness room with a TV, for a film in between. Both rooms give you an open view over the hills. Sauna towels are in the house. Use is included in the price, and there are no fixed times.

LAUNDRY AND STORAGE ROOM
Wet jackets and shoes go in the laundry room. The floor is tiled. The washing machine and dryer run as often as you like. Your skis go on the ski rack on the wall. Drying rack, ironing board and iron stand right beside them. This is also where you'll find the outdoor toys, and three sledges in winter.

GARDEN AND TERRACE
The garden is all yours. A 740-square-metre plot with its own lawn. The barbecue stands on the terrace, next to the second dining table under the parasol. The playground is right in front. Your children stay in sight while you eat in peace. The hills ahead of you. In the evening the campfire burns and you hold twist bread and marshmallows over the embers. An evening like that stays with you for good.

CHILDREN
A family-friendly holiday home, run by a family for families. The things that usually fill half your boot can stay at home: cot, high chair, children's tableware and baby monitor. Every bathroom has a step stool, and a small night light glows in the hallway outside the bedrooms. Sockets, windows and stairs are secured. The playroom has toys, board games and books for every age, plus a second TV with a kids' Netflix profile. The small playground is right in front of the terrace, and a bigger playground is 300 metres from the house. Sledges and outdoor toys, depending on the season, wait in the laundry and storage room.

GUEST ACCESS
The house is yours alone. 185 square metres over three floors, sauna, hot tub, garden. No other guests.
You take the key from the key box from 4 pm – I'll send you the code beforehand. Nobody waits for you, nobody hands anything over. On your day of departure you have until 11 am.
Three parking spaces are right by the house, just for you. Wi-Fi works everywhere. Heating and cooling run through the floor. You set the temperature in every room yourself – cooler in the bedroom than in the living room, if that's how you like it.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
LOCATION
• The house stands at 700 metres in the Sauerland.
• The Rothaarsteig trail runs a few hundred metres from the house.
• The Kahler Asten and the Schluchten- und Brückenpfad (gorge and bridge trail) are a ten-minute drive away.
• You reach the Skiliftkarussell ski area, Bikepark Winterberg and Erlebnisberg Kappe in under ten minutes.
• It's 450 metres to the bakery and a five-minute drive to the nearest restaurants.
• In the village you'll find a barefoot trail with a Kneipp wading pool and a bus stop.
• There is no nightlife here. For shopping and going out, you drive to the centre of Winterberg, about ten minutes by car.

TOURIST TAX
• The tourist tax is €2.70 per person per night, from age 16. It is not included in the FeWo-direkt price.
• For this I need your personal details in advance.

FIRE AND FIREWOOD
• A basket of firewood is ready for the fireplace.
• You bring wood for the hot tub and campfire yourselves or buy it locally.

DOGS
• Your dogs are welcome. Just not on the furniture.
• Please bring your own bowl and blanket.
• The garden is not fully fenced.

The German Tourism Association (DTV) has rated the house five stars.
