"This was a perfect cottage experience - the house itself is so charming and well kept but what puts it over the top is the location! It is literally minutes from the wonderful forest trails or the lake. You can't go wrong with a walk in either direction! And it is an easy walk to the beach park and Village! I stayed two weeks to work on a writing project and could have stayed longer. Two of my favorite features of the house are the electric fireplace indoors and the gas fire pit on the porch....

"The cottage was perfect for my husband and I to get away for a few days. We completed the NE region of the All Indiana Shop Hop (quilt stores) and went fishing several days. Looking forward to our next stay hopefully over Labor Day."

"I spent every summer of my childhood in Oakwood, so I know the cottage well. It used to belong to Rev. Ross Cook. My grandparents were George and Marie Cook (no relation to Rev. Cook) and they built the cottage at 1019 S Lake Dr. They worked at the old hotel every summer for decades. My dad also worked there during his teen years and so did I. I loved the view of the park. "Really beautiful lake property with easy-access dock. We brought our own boat since the pontoon season was over, but the canals to the house were easy to navigate and really a lot of fun to use. Firepit was great, and the outdoor spaces (deck, grill, etc.) were really enjoyable. The house does have a few "rustic" touches, but we were extremely comfortable, and it was the first time staying in an A-frame house. We recommend the experience!"

"House was very nice and updated throughout. Felt very big and spacious inside even for our big group. Well stocked with everything needed including kitchen, games, and plenty of linens. Cruiser bikes were a fun touch. Bunk room was perfect for the kids. We were there in late fall, so didnt get to enjoy much of the outdoor space or lake, but would love to come back in the summer because it all looked fantastic. And hosts were amazing, very responsive and accommodating. Definitely recommend. "
