"Ran by a wonderful couple who are really friendly and accommodating. The lodge is in a beautiful location and the facilities and room are lovely. Breakfast was included and we were asked beforehand what we wanted so it would be ready for the time we requested. And it tasted wonderful. Me and my girlfriend have visited here twice now and I'd greatly recommend a stay here."

"The stag were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was a very good size with a modern en-suite bathroom. The evening meal menu had a varied selection for all tastes and the quality of food was excellent, being very well cooked and presented. Breakfast was high quality local produce with a large serving. "Lovely people and delicious food. Bar was very friendly. Spacious room (#5) and big and comfortable bed. No internet in bedroom (think it was faulty as it showed a signal) but OK in bar. Water pressure in room #5 very poor but clean a pleasant bathroom. No mobile service but that is obviously not The Maypole’s fault!"

"Would definitely visit again! We had a free room upgrade and it was a significant improvement on the room we had anticipated - thank you very much! The room looked a little tired and so were some of the corridor/stair areas too. Our wasn't perfectly clean - the windows, mirrors and a large crisp was fairly obvious but overall, it was good. "A really great find! Un peu de cuisine française en Angleterre! Service is excellent, food is so good 10 isn’t enough. "Good price for double room and breakfast. It looks like they are refurbishing the place so a strange reception area. Broken glass in main door boarded up so not a great first impression. Bed was comfy but was quite noisy outside at the front with smokers laughing and talking as if was so hot had the windows open. Would stay here again as parking outside and price."

"Stayed for one night,our room was an exeutive room,but dont know why its classed as that,as the view was amazing,but nothing in the room as extra,ni bottled water,no mini bar etc,the bed was really low,and no bed sheets on the matress,just a thing sheet and a duvet,birds feathers and crumbs on the floor,i guess a quick hoover would have removed those,breakfast took over 40 mins,as a charity bike ride crew were befire us,the fried eggs were hard,no yolk,overall not fantastic,and room for...
