The day before we were due to arrive, we were contacted by a colleague who said she was acting on behalf of the host. She said due to unforseencircumstances they would need to offer us another property. The place they offered was nowhere near Horseshoe Bay, but instead was a rundown suburban house in North Vancouver. When we arrived we were shocked. A truck was parked in the driveway; the bed was not made up in the master bedroom; the bath had some mould and there were no plugs; the patio outside had the cleaning equipment just sitting there and random stuff (e.g. empty coat hangers) hanging up; the garden was overgrown; there was no way to make coffee. I could go on. We sent pictures at 5pm on Friday, complaining about the property, but she didn't get back to us until Saturday morning! So we had no choice but to stay. Then, when she did write back she said that she should not be expected to answer emails after 5pm, because that is outside her work hours. The whole experience was dreadful. I can provide the name and email address of the person we dealt with but don't want to do that in public feedback. We have stayed in 30 rental properties in the last 30 days, and this is BY FAR the worst experience we have had.

Waterfront weekend

Before the trip was a night mare dealing with Vrbo, I accidentally entered an extra letter on my email and it took 6 reps to try and short out fixing that, waiting and not even knowing if we still had the place due to all the confusion was fusteration, not receiving phone calls back when I was told I would besides that the place was in a Perfect location for what we did. Spend a couple night at horse shoe bay and did a day trip to Whistler and a day trip to the Sunshine Coast Home owner was easy to deal with and always contacted us back right away. The room was really big , and lots of storage for our things
