"We stayed here for 2 nights when we attended a wedding. Great location with access to shops and restaurants. The hotel was clean with good bathroooms and comfy beds. Breakast was included and it was tasty and fresh. We are vegan and it is the best hotel breakfast we have had. But the thing that elevates it is the staff. So helpful, attentive, and friendly. A great stay."

"Very quirky pub with a fantastic horse theme. The rooms were fabulous and very comfortable. They had thought of everything in the rooms and also had Dolce Gusto coffee. Then curly wurly was a great idea instead of biscuits in the room. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Cannot fault the service we received at the bar or in the restaurant and the food was amazing. "

"I found the facilities fine and my room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with more than enough tea, coffee etc., available. The meal I had was good and well presented. It's well situated in the middle of the square with plenty of parking though you are on a time limit but parking is available at the rear of the hotel next door and is available for you to use if you wish it. There is also a quiet beer garden at the back."

"I grew up in Teesside in the 80's and live in the US - I fully recommend this hotel. The room was above the Three Tuns pub across the street - I guess they run both properties. My room had new bathroom fixtures and a great walk-in shower. My deal also included a full English breakfast downstairs which I'd recommend if you want to go hiking around Sheep Wash/Cod Beck for most of the day. Brilliant spot to hang out - I will look forward to coming back on future visits to the Northeast anytime...

"Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space."
