"To be honest, I pretty much just slept here at night I didn’t do much else. The listing is perfectly accurate, so you should know exactly what you’re getting. The porch swing and view of the Mississippi, especially at night, is incredible."

"This is a great place with a beautiful view! It has everything you need for cooking and serving! The place was very clean and neat. The young people loved the pool. The only problem we had was several hornets nests, which caused three little kids to get stung. We bought spray and sprayed the nests."

"Our stay was wonderful, the check-in and out process was very straightforward. We enjoyed our days sitting outside on the patio and visited the river! Such a great location and close enough to town we got to see the nightly performance by the missionairies. It is a beautiful place!"

"This is an older appt. It is well kept and clean just in an old building. I would not have prepared meals in the kitchen. It would just not be convenient."

"The name is spot on - hideaway. Our family enjoyed a week here. So wonderful to get back to nature! Will book again for sure. The home is well appointed. The bug and sun sprays at the exits were wonderful as we forgot ours. The only thing I wished I had done was look to see what brand the king mattress in the downstairs was. I hadn't slept so good in yearsyears. "

"We had a wonderful anniversary trip to Nauvoo. The historic and quaint Mix House added some period charm to our stay. While the house retains much of its 19th century charm, it has the modern conveniences needed for a relaxing stay. It may have been the off season, but food and meal choices were limited in Nauvoo itself. We were grateful for the items we ordered from The Apron Bake Shoppe."

"We enjoyed this lovely home with a lot of charm! The pioneer owner’s story on the wall was fun to read, too. The location was great and was easy to walk to shops and the one restaurant that was open this time of year. The beds were firm but comfortable and I slept great! The one bathroom was a little tough but we knew that ahead of time so it was ok! It was a nice touch to have body wash, shampoo, dish soap, paper towels, food seasonings, etc supplied.
