Great Deals on Summer Stays!

Nestled on the banks just above the North Fork of the Washougal River, this wonderful retreat is the perfect place to get away from it all. The surrounding beauty and tranquil sounds are something to experience any time of the year.

Upon arriving you are greeted with a long circular driveway leading to the cabin make it perfect for multiple cars even if towing a trailer or boat. The front deck offers some comfy casual seating with one of the two fire-tables available for your enjoyment.

As you enter through the front door, you are immediately ensconced in a cabin feel that radiates warmth and comfort. The open floor plan combines the living, dining, and kitchen layout creating a fantastic space for your small group or family to enjoy and make memories together. Every piece of the décor and furnishing was curated to help create that perfect blend of cabin style and comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped for any of your culinary desires. Also tucked away in the corner is a wood burning stove. If you are travelling with kiddos do be careful as it does get incredibly warm when in use.

One of the best amenities has to be the backyard deck. It extends out and practically hangs over the river below. You can hear the water rush across and around the rocks and fallen trees which makes for the perfect backdrop to take in all the other sights and sounds of the forests beyond. The round fire-table makes for a great spot to consume any of your grilling creations from the nearby BBQ as well.

Ascending upstairs, you'll find the two bedrooms. One is a traditional style bedroom with a king bed. Just off one side there is a small deck with seating room for two. The other bedroom has a twin over twin bunk bed and a small half bath attached to it.

There is little doubt The North Fork Retreat will be a wonderful location for you to stay while enjoying all the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions at all.

-Sno-Park: Oldman Pass - sledding, tubing, cross country skiing. Snowshoeing. No motorized vehicles are allowed on the trails. Permits can be purchased online.

Cabin Restrictions:
-No fishing is allowed in front of the cabin or anywhere on the North Fork. 
-If you visit the river please stay in the area in front of the cabin. Neighbors own down to the river and we need to stay on our property.

The cabin was just as it appeared in the listing. The location on the Washougal River was lovely listening to the rushing water at night and very private. The amenities were just right with a well stocked kitchen, plenty of bath towels for all and games for our granddaughter. Very clean and comfy. Wish we could have stayed longer.!

What a cutely decorated cabin! It was clean and comfortable. The river ambiance was amazing. It was fairly close to activities (mostly hiking, etc.) and it was well stocked. I did not feel like, however, that the listing made it clear enough that the fireplace was the ONLY heat source. There was no matches or kindling but large pieces of wood and paper were. Probably not a big deal in warmer months (there’s ac) but we froze! When we reached out to host to ask about location of kindling and matches, we never received a response. Overall, I’d go back. But come prepared for the cold if you’re coming in cooler months!

We are from Arizona and I wanted to stay at a place that would seem other worldly to my kiddos - this fit the bill completely. Driving onto the property was an amazing experience. The deck looking out over the river was amazing, hiking down to the river was an adventure. We don’t have young kiddos anymore but if you do there is so much for them on the property. Decorating inside was beautiful - we loved everything about our stay!!

The house is adorable. The pictures of the area are accurate. But there was a terrible cat urine like smell throughout the house that was overwhelming. It triggered my husband’s asthma. We ended up paying a lot more money to book hotels at the last minute. Be sure to find out if they addressed the issue before you book. VRBO was very understanding and helpful!!

We had a great stay at this cozy quaint cabin on the river! The cabin had everything we needed. We enjoyed a nice fire inside, and we LOVED dining on the back deck, listening to the sounds of the "river music" and nature. The kitchen had everything needed to cook fabulous meals. The cabinets were labeled inside so we knew where to return everything when we were done AND where to find everything we needed. We went for some nice walks in the neighborhood in the evening. It was a great place to stay!

My fiance and I stayed here during a trip to the PNW from Texas. We wanted a proper cosy mountain cabin experience and boy did North Fork Hideaway deliver! The first night we arrived, we realized you could open the door from the bedroom and hear the sound of a rushing river, we were enchanted. It's funny, we spent half of our vacation here, and the other half on the Oregon Coast. The entire time we were on the coast we were wishing we'd have stayed here longer in Washougal!!

Loved this so much! Tucked away from everything and so serene and peaceful but not too far from the beautiful Gorge attractions. Accommodations were amazing … so clean and well stocked with the necessities. Saw some deer out by the creek and an eagle this morning from the bedroom patio. Just what we were looking for. This cabin is exactly as the listing states, it's perfect and incredibly well stocked. My downfall came with the company, iTrip's handling of an actual blizzard that hit while I was there. I reached out with my concerns many times before I arrived because I couldn't cancel (policy). Power went out, heat in the home was lost very quickly because of blizzard winds and gaps around the doors, 13 degrees out, snow started to stick and storm was just beginning. We no longer felt safe, we decided to leave after one night because of real safety concerns- had to help a local with chainsaw cut and clear a massive tree that fell to the entrance/exit of the neighborhood in order to get out. Cabin has no alternative heat source, the wood stove had wood chopped that doesn't fit inside the stove's opening-small wood stove, wood too big, no ax to cut = no heat, no backup generator. Temps dipped to -10 that night, it became an actual safety problem. iTrip will not refund or compensate only 1 night I asked for, only give "as much of a discount as possible" on a future booking and won't say what that is. I never leave these kinds of reviews, I want to return to this cabin, I just don't appreciate how this was handled in this extreme circumstance when iTrip boasts that safety and 5 star experience is their utmost concern.

Only complaint I have was the fire alarm chirp going off at 2am our 1st night because the batteries needed to be replaced. I texted that evening (knowing they were out of office) and they got back to us in the morning My husband was given the go ahead to take the batteries out of the device. The alarm was in the highest pitch point in the A-frame so it was challenging to get to. We specifically stayed somewhere to get away from the noise. They comped late check out the last morning, but I had to ask for it instead of it being extended to us for the inconvenience. This would have been easily avoided if they had an annual checklist to keep everything up to code and safe for their renters.

Great cabin nestled in the woods and right on the river. Furniture was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you can think of. We loved that you could hear the river from the bedroom, that sound and the very comfy king bed, we slept like babies. We will definitely stay here again.

Booked what looked to be an incredible experience. 2 weeks prior to my trip, my husband notified me that he had executives coming to his store and we had to reschedule the trip. Immediately called to see if they could reschedule us for later that week. They said it was already booked, I asked if we could use the amount we paid as credit toward another property in the area. They would not budge and said we are basically forfeiting the dates booked, and that they would offer a “discount” for another set of dates. Never have a experienced such a negative and unwilling company such as iTrip Northwest.
