"Quaysiders resort is an apartment/hotel right by the upper side of Lake Windermere in Ambleside. It is in an absolutely perfect location close to the lake, shops, restaurants. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a kitchen that had all kitchen amenities. Our Apartment was very clean and spacious . There is an indoor pool that was warm and it can also be like a Jacuzzi. There is also a Sauna. The resort also has a laundry room and dryer so I was able to do my laundry while on our stay. The...

"I cannot thank Craig and Del enough. Last minute booking for myself, my sister, and my dogs. Phenomenal communication and clarity of instructions, brilliant parking space and sign posting. The apartment (Wainwright) beyond exceeded my expectations! Beautifully appointed, stunningly decorated, and so incredibly thoughtfully put together. The dog welcome box was a really sweet touch. "There were dirty dishes in the dishwasher and parking was a nightmare; other cars were in the spot that were suppose to be designated for the listing. We had to pay to park over night. Pill out bed is not very comfortable. The host had great communication when we had trouble with accessing the check in instructions. Overall, wish the dishes in the dishwasher had been dealt with correctly as we planned on eating breakfast there in the morning before leaving but had no clean cutlery!"

"It was a great location. We did find the car park a little bit tight and tricky to get into (as the road was fairly busy when we arrived). The cottage was great and had all we were after and the downstairs bathroom was great for my elderly Mum. The two single beds mattresses were a bit past their best so the only thing I’d suggest to improve the property would be an update of those. Otherwise it was a great place to stay right on the river."

"We had a wonderful five-day stay at Tawny Cottage in Portinscale in mid-May. The cottage was spotlessly clean, very cosy, and it was such a lovely touch to find the heating already on when we arrived. The kitchen was exceedingly well equipped, which made self-catering easy, and the beds were very comfortable, so we slept really well throughout our stay. The location was excellent too - close to The Farmer’s Arms, a traditional pub serving good food, and with easy access to Keswick while still...

"The house really makes the most out of its space. Really comfortable and modern yet still cosy. Everything is new, clean and well thought out. Having the downstairs toilet outside is a bonus and also the outhouse with washing machine, drier and freezer - it just frees up so much space. The house instantly feels spacious even though it is quite a small footprint and the garden is beautiful and secure.
