  • Northern Quarters Estate is a private 10-acre property in Wardsboro, Vermont, set between two ski resorts: Mount Snow is roughly 10 minutes away and Stratton about 17. The estate is two authentic log homes standing 20 feet apart, with a combined 10 bedrooms, 18 beds, and 5 bathrooms.

    Originally a working quarter horse farm, the property has been converted into a compound built for large groups — family reunions, corporate retreats, wedding weekends, milestone birthdays, and ski trips where everyone wants to be under one roof without being on top of each other.

    The Two Homes

    Main house: 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a full kitchen, two wood-burning fireplaces, and heated floors across two levels. Soaring timber interiors and a great room sized for 20 people rather than a dinner party of six.

    Guest house: 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a second full kitchen, and a fireplace. It connects directly to the fitness center, which makes it the natural pick for early risers. Having a second kitchen means two families can cook separately, or your caterer can work without taking over the main house.

Great house with plenty of rooms for everyone to have their own personal space (group of 13). Love all the decorations and inside and on the outside of the property. Our crew really enjoyed hanging by the hot tub and fire pit while stargazing.

Excellent property for a winter getaway

Awesome property right in between mt snow and Stratton. Excellent communication from the hosts the entire trip. Would absolutely stay here again.

This place is enormous with nooks and crannies everywhere to get away, shoot pool, play video games, read, swim, sit in the sauna,barbecue, or wade in the brook below! Some of the rooms are great for a couple, others are better for a bunch of kids who are willing to sleep in a bunk or twin bed.

We had the most incredible weekend getaway at Northern Quarters Estate. Pictures do not do it justice! The place was truly out of a picture book: large bedrooms, great gathering areas, stunning landscaping and pool/hottub/sauna features. The grounds are vast, stunning, and the house comes with virtually everything a large group needs to have a great weekend! We especially enjoyed the large dining spaces, the amount of full bathrooms, the patio, and the gathering spaces in both the main cabin and the guest house. The pool was the best one K have ever been in. The best spot for a pool party! If I had any qualms about the experience, some of the fixtures are out of date and show signs of wear and tear. However, the pros significantly outweigh this single con! Management was immediately responsive when we had a fuse blow in a room. 10/10 experience. Truly cannot think of a better place to gather! We hope to be back soon. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Long Weekend in Wardsboro

The pictures don't do the property justice! We had a great time during our stay and found the house well stocked with everything we wanted/needed. Great spot to spend some time with a big group of friends.

We had a wonderful Christmas week at Northern Quarters with our extended family, ages 5 months to 89 years old. The host was very helpful and accessible. The surroundings were beautiful —especially loved the brook and woods lighted up at night. Beds were comfortable and the houses were equipped with everything we needed to pull off meals for a crowd. The separate houses were perfect for accommodating late nights and early risers. Loved our walks and cross country skiing through the woods. Mt Snow was 10 minutes away for downhill skiing and Wardsboro grocery was just around the corner with a little bit of everything for last minute things. Fabulous spot for family and our dogs!

Fabulous time with a large group

Truly an amazing property and more special in person than the photos convey. We had plenty of space to spread out with a group of 14. The kitchen is perfect for large group meals and well stocked. The pool and hot tub were a special treat. We had such a great time, highly recommend this spot for an unforgettable trip.

Great Family Vacation for New Years

Fantastic property with main house + guest house and hot tub. We had a great time check in and house instructions were simple. Short drive to both Mt. Snow and Stratton. Kids and adults loved the game room and pool table. Kitchen was perfect for big families.

Beautiful property - private compound

Large property with multiple houses. Main house had plenty of room for our group of 14, and the guest house was a bonus area to hang out at night! The host was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Nothing was exceptional, I was disappointed with kitchen appliances that were not working, one of the ovens, which we were planning on using, and the freezer part of the refrigerator.The pots and pans were very limited.The towels were very thin and worn out, not what I expected in such a costly rental!

Good times in the Woods

Excellent property for the 16 family members involved. Space to be together and separate, plenty of outdoor space, had a badminton court set in place, all facilities operating and in good condition. Needs to ensure that ALL berthing spaces have window screens installed this time of year. Fun time! S&J Management did a fine job.

Excellent experience all around

Beautiful property with all the amenities. Plenty of room, even with a very large group. Both buildings are spacious and comfortable, and the outside is just as accommodating. Location is great for off property activities as well, though you might not want to leave. The owner/management was a pleasure to work with. They always responded within the hour, usually within 20 minutes, and they were very helpful even as our plans fluctuated. This is certainly a great rental, you'd be hard pressed to find something with which to be disappointed.
