"Bad place"

"Room photos on expedia showed a room that had been nicely renovated but our room was one that clearly hadn't been done yet. Place didn't seem full so I'm guessing not very many rooms look like the pictures. There is a pretty big difference between the room we got and the pictures they show so it's hard not to feel a bit deceived. Sound proofing is lacking so we could hear car doors slamming for most of the night. Staff was friendly and helpful and the room was clean. Location is close to local...

"No pool"

"The room was very worn, but the worst was the shower, which was essentially unusable due to stains of an unknown origin. Through no fault of the owners, the city as a whole is not a safe place to visit, particularly in the area where the property is located. We had someone clearly under the influence of some sort of substance repeatedly try to enter our room, and would not leave until police were involved. "Easy check in, very clean, comfortable and nicely updated. Situated in a peaceful and quiet forest setting. Near downtown amenities, recreation hall and sportsplex. Highly recommend!! "

"The Riverside Inn was great and excellent value. It is very much a help yourself sort of place as the reception wasn’t manned when we arrived, but the staff in the pub had been given our room key, which was good. The room is comfortable and equipped with coffee making things. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We ate in the pub and the food was very tasty and the pub staff super friendly and helpful. For a budget priced stay we thought it was great value and would stay again!"

"Oh boy...I greatly dislike writing negative reviews. While Chemainus is adorable, the location is fantastic and the exterior is a dream...this aint it. Mouldy drapes, a number of amenities were broken (electric fireplace, mouldy fridge), no wifi, questionably clean bedsheets. And (I have photos as proof) a white substance residue left on the counter next to the bed. I will say that the indoor jet tub was amazing!
